President Obama in Atlanta to attend three fundraisers targeting wealthy blacks

President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign will be in full swing when he touches down in Atlanta today. While here, the president will attend 3 ritzy high-ticket fundraisers targeting obscenely rich African Americans who can afford to pay a minimum of $2,500 per ticket.

Obama’s haul from black supporters is expected to total $5-$6 million dollars by the time Air Force One takes off from Fort McPherson later tonight.

From ABC News:

Seventy-five supporters will mingle with the president at an as yet undisclosed private Atlanta residence, where tickets were $10,000 apiece. Then he’ll join a star-studded concert featuring CeeLo Green at the Tyler Perry Studios, where at least 1,000 Obama fans are expected in the crowd, an official said. Each paid $500 or more.

Before returning to Washington, Obama will visit the home of actor and director Tyler Perry, who’s hosting the ritziest party of the night at $35,800 per head. At least 60 people are expected to attend to toast the president.
All proceeds from the six events benefit the Obama Victory Fund, a joint account that funnels cash to the Obama campaign and Democratic National Committee, the official said. The first $5,000 of an individual’s contribution goes to Obama while the remainder — up to $30,800 — goes to the DNC.

The president’s events raise to 40 his total attended for the year and 107 his total for the cycle. The first lady’s event is her 17th fundraiser of the year.

Chris Rock Attacks Camerawoman Over Tea Party Question

A New York Times bestselling author and his television crew were attacked by comedian Chris Rock who was upset over a tea party question.

Jason Mattera, author of the book Hollywood Hypocrites: The Devastating Truth About Obama’s Biggest Backers, was pounced on by Rock, 47, who grabbed an expensive video camera — from a camerawoman — and hurled it 50 feet, according to Breitbart.com.

“I was stunned,” said Mr. Mattera in an exclusive interview with Big Hollywood. “Tea Party members get called the worst things imaginable and still remain peaceful. But ask a big Hollywood celebrity to explain himself and the guy goes ballistic, wrestles the camera away from my camerawoman, chucks it 50 feet, and then challenges me to a fight. It’s unreal. And it perfectly illustrates why I decided to investigate and writeHollywood Hypocrites.”

The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on January 23, 2012, at Spike Lee’s Sundance Film Festival after party at Tao night club. No police charges were filed.

Sharpton, NAACP, Pastors call for investigation into vigilante shooting death of Trayvon Martin

Civil Rights leader Al Sharpton is on his way to Sanford, Florida today to hopefully right a wrong. Sharpton plans to meet with the NAACP and influential pastors in Sanford on Wednesday to demand justice for 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

Trayvon was shot to death last month by 28-year-old self-appointed Neighborhood Watch “captain” George Zimmerman, who claims he was acting in self-defense.

Just moments before pulling the trigger, Zimmerman was on the phone with 911 dispatch, reporting he spotted a suspicious black man in his majority white subdivision. The 911 dispatcher told Zimmerman not to approach the man. But Zimmerman ignored that order and got out of his car. A fight ensued, and Trayvon was shot dead.

Sharpton plans to speak for Trayvon, who can’t speak for himself. The Sanford police department spoke for Zimmerman when they let him walk — without any charges — for killing an unarmed teenager.

According to the Sanford police, Zimmerman had the right to defend himself with deadly force against the unarmed Trayvon, who is black. But Trayvon didn’t have that same right when he was approached by a white man who probably hurled racial slurs at him.

Sharpton released a statement saying, “The fact that a young unarmed man could be killed by a neighborhood watch captain while his family was blatantly misled by local police as to the background of the shooter is disturbing.”

In his statement, Sharpton also claims Zimmerman used racial language during the 911 call. Sharpton and Ttrayvon’s parents are demanding the release of that 911 call.

Speaking of phone calls, President Obama still hasn’t called Trayvon’s family yet. But the president did place a phone call to pro-abortion activist Sandra Fluke, days after radio host Rush Limbaugh called her a “slut” live on the air.

Saying his call wasn’t politically motivated, Mr. Obama explained it like this: “The reason I called Ms. [Sandra] Fluke is because of [my daughters]… I want them to be able to speak their mind in a civil and thoughtful way.”

Mr. Obama probably doesn’t care that Trayvon’s parents have been speaking their minds in a civil and thoughtful way. Maybe if Mr. Obama had a son, he would acknowledge the Martins’ pain and anguish the same way he acknowledged Sandra Fluke’s. That’s the least he could do.

President Obama bars Texas law requiring Hispanic voters to show photo ID at the polls

In a bold move that emphasizes the desperation of the Obama administration, the Justice Dept. has blocked a Texas law requiring voters to show a photo ID to vote in the upcoming presidential elections. A Justice Department official said the law “disproportionately harms Hispanic residents” and prevents them from voting [for President Obama].

“Even using the data most favorable to the state, Hispanics disproportionately lack either a driver’s license or a personal identification card,” wrote Thomas Perez, head of the Justice Department’s civil rights division, in a letter to the director of elections for the Texas Secretary of State.

In December, the Justice Department also struck down a similar South Carolina law requiring photo IDs at the polls.

Attorney General Eric Holder said the “unfair” laws discriminated against minorities and could hurt voter turnout among those who helped elect President Obama in 2008.

“The reality is that — in jurisdictions across the country — both overt and subtle forms of discrimination remain all too common and have not yet been relegated to the pages of history,” Holder said in one recent speech, according to the Washington Post.

This news comes amid shocking reports that 52% of Mississippi voters believe President Obama is Muslim.

Fox News set to air the video Obama doesn’t want us to see

From Breitbart.com:

Earlier today, Buzzfeed’s Ben Smith announced on Twitter that video researcher Andrew Kaczynski had released “the mysterious Harvard/Obama/race video that the Breitbart folks have been talking about.”

The video, which Kaczynski says was “licensed from a Boston television station,” shows a young Barack Obama leading a protest at Harvard Law School on behalf of Prof. Derrick Bell, a radical academic tied to [Obama's mentor Rev.] Jeremiah Wright.

However, the video has been selectively edited–either by the Boston television station or by Buzzfeed itself. Over the course of the day, Breitbart.com will be releasing additional footage that has been hidden by Obama’s allies in the mainstream media and academia.

Breitbart.com Editor-in-Chief Joel Pollak and Editor-at-Large Ben Shapiro will appear on The Sean Hannity Show to discuss the tape.

Sean Hannity will air the full video tonight on Fox News’ Hannity at 9 p.m. ET.

President Obama Snaps Back At Fox News Reporter

Feeling the pressure of a tough reelection campaign, President Barack Obama got gully with Fox News’ White House correspondent Ed Henry during a press conference today.

According to the Huffington Post, Obama was asked a question about high gas prices, which some have warned will increase if a war with Iran breaks out.

“Your critics will say on Capitol Hill that you want gas prices to go higher, because you have said before that will wean the American people off fossil fuels onto renewable fuels. How do you respond to that?” said Henry.

Referring to himself in the third person (as most narcissists do), President Obama said, “Ed, just from a political perspective, do you think the President of the United States, going into reelection, wants gas prices to go up even higher?”

Turning to the rest of the media, the president asked, “Is there anybody here who thinks that makes a lot of sense?”

Watch the clip after the break.
