Kanye West and Kim Kardashian: True Romance or Desperate Stunt?

I’ll take ‘Desperate Stunt’ for $500, Alex.

Anyone with common sense can see that Kim Kardashian needs a miracle to save her reality TV career. Most of America has tuned out and dismissed the Kardashians as a family who will do anything for money and attention.

Just in time for the upcoming season of “Kourtney and Kim Take NY”, Kim, who has more tricks up her sleeve than magician Criss Angel, has pulled Kanye West out of her hat. And Kanye is more than happy to play the role of useful idiot to get in good with the Kardashian klan.

Even the most levelheaded Kardashian — Khloe — is playing along with Kim and Kanye’s publicity stunt.

Two narcissists in love? Not in a million years!

From US Weekly:

Stranger things have happened. A pal tells the new Us Weekly, out now, that Jay-Z’s close friend and collaborator West, 34, has fallen “genuinely head over heels” for Kardashian, 31, with whom he was photographed gallivanting around NYC late last week.
“It’s not a PR stunt,” the source insists of the rapper and reality star. “They’re perfect for each other. He thinks she’s his Beyonce!”

I would like to to read how Tiny maintains her Chameleon style hair styles because she changes colors every week.

Gabrielle Union Covers JET Magazine

NBA superstar Dwyane Wade is one lucky guy. Not only is he dating one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood — Gabrielle Union — but she’s not even pressuring him to marry her like some selfish celebs we know.

Gabrielle, 40, covers this week’s issue of JET® Magazine on newsstands April 9.

Inside, she opens up to JET® Magazine’s editor in chief Mitzi Miller about her long term relationship with Wade, her budding interest in marriage—a staunch pre-requisite to having children—and the drama brought to her doorstep by her NBA superstar boyfriend Dwyane Wade’s ex-wife Siovaughn Wade.

Also in this week’s issue…

Alicia Keys Covers VIBE; Gives First ‘Real’ Interview

If there’s anything you ever wanted to know about singer Alicia Keys, make sure you pick up the April/May 2012 issue of VIBE magazine on newsstands April 16.

One thing that you probably didn’t know is that Alicia believes in omens or signs. It was one such sign that convinced her that lothario music producer Kasseem Dean, aka Swizz Beatz, was the man she would one day wed. It didn’t matter to Alicia that Kasseem was already involved with another woman at the time.

“It was the craziest thing,” says Dean, leaning forward in his chair. “We had a work lunch with some people, and I get home and look in the back pocket—”

“My credit card was in his pocket,” Keys ?nishes the story, eyes wide. “Why was my credit card in his pocket?”
One explanation might be that he’d grabbed it by accident when they split the check, but that would be too prosaic. They saw the credit card debacle as a sign, the ?rst of many. Well, second, if you count the time, 14 years ago, when they ?rst met and Dean tried unsuccessfully to get her number from his friend. “It wasn’t our time yet,” he says with a smile.

Michelle Obama Covers Ebony Magazine

First Lady Michelle Obama has snagged more covers than Beyonce in the last 4 years since her husband was elected president.

Mrs. Obama, who rules the White House with an iron fist, covers the May 2012 issue of Ebony magazine, on newsstands April 17.

Inside the issue, she talks about her responsibilities keeping the president focused, and on raising two daughters to be respectful, kind empathetic young women who should never let a man disrespect them.

Michelle didn’t touch on the recent controversy involving her oldest daughter Malia Obama vacationing with 12 classmates and 25 Secret Service agents in Mexico.

The cover photo was shot by Marc Baptiste at the White House, according to MichelleObamaWatch.com.

On raising Sasha and Malia:

MICHELLE OBAMA: “Barack and I feel that our greatest responsibility is to raise two productive, respectful, kind empathetic young women.”

On counteracting negative depictions of women in pop culture for the girls:

“My husband talks to our girls about how he expects men in their lives to treat them, and he offers examples by how he treats me and how he treats them.”

Rihanna: ‘Love is like swimming with sharks’

The NY Post’s gossip column Page Six has another article about rebellious Rihanna defying her boss Jay Z’s orders to avoid all contact with her abusive ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown.

A source in Rihanna’s camp told Page Six:

“Her management banned her from reuniting with Chris, but she said she’ll do whatever the hell she wants to,” said a source, adding, “Rihanna is rebelling. She says they have been working her too hard and she wants some time to herself. They fear she’ll secretly record an album with Brown, just to defy them.”

But you already know all this because you are a loyal reader of Sandrarose.com (and, apparently, so is Page Six).

One of the saddest things I’ve read all year is Rihanna drawing an analogy between love and swimming with sharks, which she literally did while filming her first movie “Battleship”.

Oprah Writes a Revealing Letter to Her Younger Self

It is difficult for a narcissist with her own media empire to admit failure. But Oprah Winfrey, 58, did just that on Monday when she told Katie Couric that she made a mistake launching her OWN Network.

Oprah, who ended her syndicated television show’s successful run at 25 years because a dying boy told her to, is struggling to accept defeat when she’s spent the last 25 years winning.

Therapists often advise their stressed out patients to communicate with their younger selves in order to comfort and nurture them. Embracing your inner child is a method that some therapists teach to their patients who are on the verge of nervous breakdowns because of their intense feelings of inadequacy.

So Oprah wrote a letter to herself back when she was the youngest and first black female television reporter at Nashville’s WLAC-TV.

“Dear beautiful, brown-skinned girl,” she begins in her letter which is published in this month’s issue of O magazine.
