Former Dallas Cowboys star Deion Sanders has been charged with misdemeanor simple assault in the wake of an altercation with his estranged wife that got her arrested at their mansion in suburban Dallas.
Police said late Tuesday that further investigation led to citations against both Deion and Pilar Sanders, who still live together in Prosper.
Police say the charge doesn’t warrant arrest. A police spokesman wouldn’t detail the allegations, but says simple assault could be as simple as touching or jerking from a grip.
A message left with Sanders‘ attorney wasn’t immediately returned.

Pilar Sanders released from jail, ordered to stay away from Deion
Welp, Deion Sanders got his wish. After months of dealing with an unwanted guest in his palatial Dallas estate, a judge has ordered his estranged wife Pilar Sanders to stay away from the mansion.
Pilar, who was arrested Monday night on domestic abuse charges after Mr. Sanders accused her of assaulting him, was released from a Dallas jail Tuesday morning.
According to a CBS local affiliate, Collin County magistrate Paul Raleeh granted Mr. Sanders an emergency protective order against her.
The order means Pilar can’t go anywhere near the estate — and if she so much as breathes on Deion in public she will be locked up until her trial.
Now Mr. Sanders can move Hollywood trampoline Tracey Edmonds into his home. Babyface’s ex-wife and Mr. Sanders have been dating for months. Pilar cited Edmonds as the reason for the breakup of their marriage.
Like her messed up attitude had nothing to do with the break up.

Pilar Sanders’ mugshot has hit the internets. In the mugshot taken at a Dallas jail last night following her arrest on domestic abuse charges, Pilar smirks at the camera. The fallout from Sanders’ arrest is likely to be huge. She will certainly lose custody of her minor children, and any endorsements she acquired as a result of being married to former NFL star Deion Sanders.
A judge will probably force her to move out of the residence she shares with Deion, since he will ask for a restraining order. According to Deion’s daughter, Deiondra Sanders, Pilar had refused to move out of the mansion.
Deion took to his Twitter page last night to tweet about the attack by Pilar and a female friend, known as @Toothickchick on Twitter.com.

According to tweets sent out on Deion Sanders’ official Twitter page, his estranged wife, Pilar Sanders (pictured above) and a friend of hers jumped him right in front of their sons in Dallas today. Now Deion says he is pressing charges.
Metta World Peace Ejected After Throwing Vicious Elbow (Video)
Troubled LA Laker star Metta World Peace must have thought he was in a nightclub during the Thunder vs Lakers game at the Staples Center on Sunday.
World Peace, the player formerly known as Ron Artest, was celebrating after a slam dunk when he ran into Thunder guard James Harden. World Peace suddenly threw a vicious left elbow at Harden’s head, sending him sprawling to the floor. World Peace was immediately ejected from the game and charged with a flagrant 2 foul, which carries an automatic suspension.
The 32-year-old Lakers small forward told the refs that he didn’t see Harden when he threw his elbow.
Harden was shaken up after the hard foul and taken back to the locker room. He returned to the court after halftime, but was sent back to the locker room for the remainder of the game after complaining of a headache.
It will be up to the NBA commissioner to decide how many games World Peace will sit out for, with the playoffs beginning next week.
Metta has spoken at length about his mental issues growing up. He has donated over $600,000 to mental health awareness causes. But his continued clashes with players and coaches signals a player whose mental issues are out of control.
He has become a serious liability to the league. Nobody is safe with World Peace on the court — not the players or the fans.
Metta’s first name is a traditional Buddhist word that means loving kindness and friendliness towards all.

Struggling Rapper Jim Jones Arrested AGAIN
Celebrity gossip site TMZ.com reports that rapper Jim Jones has been arrested for the 2nd time in 3 days.
According to TMZ, Jones was pulled over by police earlier today in New York City — and subsequently arrested for driving on a suspended license.
TMZ says he was booked and released.
This latest arrest comes 3 days after Jones was cuffed for resisting arrest following a brawl in a Connecticut casino. At first it was reported (on Twitter.com) that Jones was fighting with his long-time girlfriend, Chrissy, who starred alongside him on VH1′s reality series ‘Love & Hip Hop’.
But according to TMZ, the slugfest involved a random man who reportedly walked up to Jones and began talking smack to him at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods on Friday. Then the man started throwing punches at Jones, who fought back. Several of Jones’ boys jumped into the fray. It took five officers to mace and subdue Jones, who was later released on $40,000 bail.
Jones was charged with assault on a police officer and breach of peace in the Connecticut incident.
Writer Offers $1,000 To Beat Chris Brown Up
According to Huffington Post, a writer is so incensed that Rihanna went back to Chris Brown — he is offering $1,000 to anyone who inflicts serious bodily harm on Brown.

Violence never solves anything, but that didn’t stop a writer named Kevin Seccia, from offering a $1,000 prize to the first person who beats up Chris Brown.
In a blog post, Seccia wrote that Brown “is a horrible human being,” and argues that he doesn’t even pretend to be sorry for “brutally assaulting and threatening to kill a woman,” and shows no awareness of what he’s done. For those reasons he’s offering the cash prize to the first person to deliver documented proof that they hit Brown with “at least two solid punches.” For legal reasons, Seccia writes that his offer is partially a joke, but he seems serious about wanting some karma to come Brown’s way.
Another high-profile hater is country singer Miranda Lambert. She was one of the first to express her disgust at Brown’s performance at the Grammys and got caught in a Twitter feud of her own with the 22-year-old R&B singer. Brown responded directly to Lambert with a sarcastic tweet: “Using my name to get publicity? I love it! Perform your heart out! Go buy Miranda Lambert album! So motivational and ‘PERFECT’!”
Lambert doesn’t seem to want to drop the issue anytime soon. At a concert on Thursday in Amherst, Mass., she spoke out against domestic violence. “I just have to speak my mind, because where I come from, beating up on a woman is never okay. So that’s why my daddy taught me early on in life how to use a shotgun.”
