Amber Rose still spending Kanye West’s hush money

Former stripper and professional beard, Amber Rose, was spotted out shopping with a friend at Barney’s New York in Beverly Hills, CA yesterday. After shopping, Amber drove off in a black Lamborghini. We know it’s not hers. Too bad the paparazzi service didn’t run the license plate to see who the car really belonged to. Maybe she leased it with what’s left over from Kanye West’s hush money?

In this pic, we can clearly see what else “Hard face” Amber is spending Kanye’s money on.

Recap: ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ 11/14/10

This season’s Real Housewives of Atlanta reality TV series is entirely scripted and even more fake than the previous 2 seasons (if that’s even possible).

2 weeks ago I received an email (as did TMZ, apparently) from a supposed loyal reader informing me that Sheree Whitfield’s $133,750 Aston Martin was repossessed by her attorneys for failing to pay them $80,000 in attorney’s fees.

Recognizing an obvious publicity stunt to drive up ratings, I ignored the email. The next day the story was all over TMZ and the blogs. It’s obvious that this episode was sponsored by Aston Martin.

Anyway, I fell asleep on last night’s episode of RHOA, but Rodney Ho of the AJC’s Radio & TV Talk blog took the time to watch last night’s episode and give his readers a rundown.

Sheree spends the episode prepping, then doing a sexy rumba at a charity event called “Dancing Stars of Atlanta,” which was held in mid-May for the Alzheimer’s Association of Georgia. All the ladies minus Phaedra Parks (prepping for her baby’s imminent arrival) show up.

Though Sheree is being her usual diva-like, over-confident self, she actually pulls it off. The editors made it seem like the other housewives weren’t all that impressed (one said it wasn’t that tough of a dance) but she did get 9’s from the judges. Plus, she raised more than $5,000 for the charity, although she felt her housewife castmates were a bit chintzy.

And good news for us: Tiy-E Muhammad, the “love doctor” (but not the real thing), is still in the picture, despite his seeming lack of real wealth or interest in it. Sheree said he’s out of town for the charity event but trailers show him popping up next week. And in episode eight, Sheree finds out the truth about him. (I guess she didn’t Google his name because the facts about him faking his credentials are readily available online. The AJC wrote about it several years ago.)

Celeb Style: Rick Ross and Sean Combs

Allen over at Upscale Hype posted these pics of rapper Rick Ross and rap mogul Sean Combs, otherwise known as the Bugatti Boyz, posing in front of a $2.7 million Bugatti Veyron.

Sean Combs doesn’t mind hopping on the hottest thing moving in order to stay relevant. In this case, he’s hoping flame thrower Rick Ross will carry him on his back for at least another 15 minutes.

The new duo was probably shooting a video for their single titled “Another One”. Rick Ross is wearing an Exclusive Game Clothing custom leather jacket ($2,200), which he matched with a pair of Lanvin high-Top sneakers ($765). Diddy is also seen below rocking an Exclusive Game MCM cognac jacket and what appears to be a pair of Collection by Creative Recreation black high-top studded sneakers ($450)

Speaking of MCM, that brand has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity since producer Kanye West, and others, started wearing pieces from MCMs TI$A line. MCM was very popular among the urban set back in the 80s. There was even a MCM store at the upscale Lenox Square mall in Atlanta when I first moved here from Miami in 1990.

Celebs Out & About: Dwyane Wade, Gabby Union, Seal, Halle Berry, Malik Yoba

Is musician Seal gaining weight or does he need to fire his stylist? The singer was spotted while he shopped at Samy’s camera store in LA yesterday.

I know you don’t care, but industry steering wheel Gabrielle Union and her boyfriend Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat NBA team were seen strolling in Miami recently.

I don’t know how Dwyane squeezes his tall frame into his tiny Ferrari.

Celebs Out & About: Ciara, LaLa Vazquez and Kiyan

The first thing I thought when I saw this picture was ‘who is she?’ Once I realized the stylish chick in the photo was pseudo-singer Ciara, my second thought was ‘why is she wearing a Hermès when she knows she can’t afford it?’ This particular Hermès croc Birkin retails for a minimum of $15,000 — that’s IF you can find one to buy. Hermès is so exclusive that they must be pre-ordered and can take up to 6 months to be delivered. So we know the bag is not Ciara’s. That’s a good try though, CiCi!

How the Mighty Have Fallen: Jermaine Dupri Rebounds

It was a great ride: After two decades of churning out bubble gum rap and crafting memorable hits for such artists as Bow Wow, Kris Kross, Xscape and Da Brat, music producer-turned rapper Jermaine Dupri has come full circle.

The pint sized former rap mogul now finds himself staring at an uncertain future as he starts over at square 1 with a downsized version of So So Def, the independent label that made him a household name.

The 90s were heady days for Jermaine Dupri who struck gold and then platinum with a mixture of pop-rap that Atlanta has become known for. But few people knew then that JD, as he likes to be known, did not craft those hits himself.

Like fellow Atlanta producer Dallas Austin, JD kept a team of virtually unknown producers on his payroll, and they did most of the work for him.

That’s not unusual in a music industry that is dominated by narcissists who routinely take credit for other people’s work.

Big name producers, such as Diddy and JD, are often up all night clubbing, and making it rain on botoxed strippers who they share champagne breakfasts with in random hotel rooms at 8 in the morning. All the while, the unknown producers, who make pennies on the dollar, craft the hits that earn the big name producers their Grammys.

This explains why “producer” Sean Combs put out so many hits early on in his career, but he couldn’t make a hit now if his life depended on it. The same goes for JD who took his So So Def label independent last year after being dumped from Island Records.

According to Creative Loafing, JD is bitter now that he has no major label to call home. No longer able to splurge on the exorbitant $8,000-a-month rental fees, he took down his infamous “Afro man” billboard alongside I-85 downtown. The one that greeted out-of-state visitors driving into Atlanta from Hartsfield airport.

Dupri, 36, also laid off (or fired) most of his staff and now operates So So Def out of his Southside studios in Buckhead with a skeleton crew of 3.

Gone is the big money label budget and all the perks that went along with being signed to a major label. If you don’t have a major label budget, then you can’t pay producers. This is when a producer’s weaknesses — and lack of raw talent – is exposed for the world to see.

Also gone is the main reason why Dupri’s name stayed on everyone lips for so long: Janet Jackson. Sadly JD is in denial, refusing to admit that their relationship is over.

According to Creative Loafing, JD seems to deny that the pair have broken up, despite numerous reports to the contrary last year. “That’s an assumption,” he says.

The failures began multiplying, culminating In 2008, when JD executive produced his then girlfriend Janet’s Discipline album. The album failed to go gold and Janet’s contract was not renewed at Island. Some say JD destroyed Janet jackson’s career by selfishly elevating his own career above hers. Even if that wasn’t true, others took notice of his failures.

Celebs Out & About: Justin Bieber, Sean Kingston, Sean Combs, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Eminem

Who knew teen singing sensation Justin Bieber and one-hit-wonder Sean Kingston were tighter than two peas in a pod? The two chums were seen driving around L.A. in Bieber’s brand new $200,000 Lamborghini Gallardo.

Correction: the $200,000 Gallardo does not belong to Justin. According to the Daily Mail:

…a year ago, Sean “Diddy” Combs promised a 15-year-old Bieber that he could drive the rapper-producer’s white Lamborghini once he turned 16. Biebs turned sweet 16 in March, so once he hit LA, Diddy made good on his promise.

The two pals even share the same taste in custom soft sided luggage. Justin and Sean each showed off custom pieces from the Louis Stewart Collection backstage at Justin’s concert.

Rumor has it that rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is lacking, according to package watchers. He kinda confirms the rumors in this pic from the current issue of GQ magazine. According to Yaz:

Diddy shows off his black panties and goes on record in August 2010 issue of GQ Magazine, and speaks on Biggie’s murder, his moms and drug dealing pops. The feature is part of the magazine’s “113 Funniest Dudes, Dudettes, & Dirty Jokes In America…”
