New Birth Crowns Bishop Eddie Long as King

Some of you may recall that disgraced preacher Eddie Long stepped down from his position as spiritual leader of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church late last year. His stated goal was to focus on his family — in particular, his long-suffering wife who is divorcing him.
Well, Bishop Long is back in the pulpit. And he returned in typical dramatic fashion.
New Birth brought in a controversial “Rabbi” to crown Long as King in an elaborate Jewish ceremony using 300-year-old sacred scrolls that were found discarded outside a concentration camp in Germany in the 1940s.
I wonder how the Jews feel about this?
Update I, 4:45 pm ET: according to this blog, the “Rabbi” isn’t even Jewish and the 300-year-old “Jewish scrolls” are fake:
Who Knew Jennifer Williams bats for the other team?

Today’s story on celebrity gossip site TMZ.com about ‘Basketball Wives’ cast member Jennifer Williams feuding with Evelyn Lozada’s assistant, Nia Crooks (right), jarred my memory about an interesting email I received last year.
In her email my loyal reader, who identified herself as “Patricia,” claimed to have had a torrid love affair with the still-married Williams.
Patricia wrote that she met Williams 3 years ago at the Miami Club where she earned a modest living as an exotic dancer. She said JW took an instant liking to her because she reminded JW of “a younger version” of herself.
Patricia said the two women exchanged phone numbers and JW called her just a few hours later to make sure she “got home safely.” Patricia recalled how JW “wined and dined” her at fancy restaurants. Their friendship quickly blossomed into something “more meaningful,” Patricia wrote.
Patricia, who admits she is bisexual, described sex with JW as “intense” but infrequent. She wrote that she and Williams, who assumed the more dominant role, argued often and Williams seemed to be obsessed with exerting complete control over her.
Twitter FAIL: Evelyn Lozada exposes her own insecurities

Last night I was unwinding on social networking website Twitter.com when I decided to have a little fun with reality TV personality, Evelyn Lozada. You see, me, Evelyn and her (very annoying) publicist were cool back when nobody ever heard of her.
It was me who they came to to put out the first rumors about her and Chad Ochocinco being in a relationship. At the time when I started the rumor about them dating, they had only seen each other once (she lived in Florida and Chad was on the west coast filming his show).
Then we fell out over another issue that I won’t get into.
In Case You Missed It: Love & Hip Hop, Episode 8
Just to prove what a hoodrat she is, Jim Jones’ longtime girlfriend, Chrissy Lampkin, 40, instigates a fight with his 24-year-old manager, Yandy Smith, aka Don King. The actual fight is mostly a lot of pushing and shoving by the ladies with about a hundred crew members and extras between them. It was really nothing to write home about.
The main subject of interest on Twitter.com last night seemed to be what Yandy was wearing. In an effort to show that Yandy has at least an outward appearance of style, VH1 posted these photos of her on their blog today.
It’s hard to like Yandy because she comes off as a sneaky and untrustworthy bish. Physically, all her body parts are the right shape and size, and she dresses cute for the most part. But as soon as she opens her mouth, it’s hard to see her beauty shine through all that ugliness.
Do better, Yandy…
Celebs Out & About: Jennifer Hudson & Punk, Kelly Rowland, Gabourey Sidibe
So actress/singer Jennifer Hudson and her baby daddy, David Otunga, are together after all? Or he could just be picking up their son for visitation. But they are holding hands, so I guess that means the rumors were false. As you recall, Jennifer called off her wedding to the pro wrestler because the former attorney refused to sign a prenuptial agreement. The couple were spotted out and about with their son yesterday in Beverly Hills, CA.

Eddie Long Denies Stepping Down As Pastor of New Birth

During a surprise announcement from the pulpit on Sunday, troubled prosperity preacher Bishop Eddie Long announced he was taking time off as pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.
“I’m going to take a little time off to work with my family,” Long said Sunday. “I’m still your pastor. You’ll still receive my direction,” he said, choosing his words carefully. “You’ve given me some weeks to take care of some family business.”
The “family business” that Long seemed to be referring to were conflicting reports that his wife of 21 years, Vanessa G. Long, had sought to terminate their marriage.
On Thursday afternoon, Mrs. Long filed for divorce, saying her decision had been reached “after a great deal of deliberation and prayer.” The divorce was announced in a press release early Friday morning. But by Friday afternoon, Eddie Long’s own publicist released a statement attributed to Mrs. Long stating she was calling off the divorce.
A few hours after that statement was released, the media received word that the divorce was back on again.
Bishop Eddie Long’s Wife Says “Never Mind”

24 hours after filing for divorce from embattled Atlanta preacher Bishop Eddie Long, his long-suffering wife, Vanessa Long, has asked her attorneys to withdraw her divorce petition.
Mrs. Long blames “years of attacks in the media” for her abrupt decision to file for divorce yesterday (Dec. 1).
But in a new statement released this afternoon, Mrs. Long said,
“Upon prayerful reflection, I have reconsidered and plan to withdraw my petition for divorce from my husband, Bishop Eddie L. Long,” she said in an emailed statement bearing the New Birth logo. “I love my husband. I believe in him and admire his strength and courage.”
Yesterday, Mrs. Long appeared to give up on her marriage to the troubled leader of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church:
“After a great deal of deliberation and prayer, I have decided to terminate my marriage to Bishop Eddie L. Long. Accordingly, I authorized my attorneys to file for divorce on December 1, 2011.”
The divorce filing followed a tumultuous period for the Bishop, who, earlier this year, settled a sexual misconduct suit brought by 4 former Longfellow Youth Academy students, and a fifth man who was not included in the suit.
