Not everyone in New York is excited about rap mogul Jay Z taking a more hands on approach with the NY Nets.
NY Post columnist Phil Mushnick rankled readers with a racist, venom-filled column on Jay Z's minority ownership of the NY Nets.
In his Equal Time column today, Mushnick wrote the following diatribe about the Nets' new name, cheerleaders and logo which was designed by the aging rap mogul:
"Why the Brooklyn Nets when they can be the New York Niggas? The cheerleaders could be the Brooklyn Bitches or Hoes," he wrote.
From NY Mag:
As long as the Nets are allowing Jay-Z to call their marketing shots — what a shock that he chose black and white as the new team colors to stress, as the Nets explained, their new “urban” home — why not have him apply the full Jay-Z treatment?
Why the Brooklyn Nets when they can be the New York N------s? The cheerleaders could be the Brooklyn B----hes or Hoes. Team logo? A 9 mm with hollow-tip shell casings strewn beneath. Wanna be Jay-Z hip? Then go all the way!
At least 17,500+ VH1 viewers are sick and tired of VH1's scripted violence against black women. The show, Basketball Wives, which pretends to follow the troubles and tribulations of a group of "friends," is actually a scripted TV series with non-actor cast members who are encouraged to stage fake fights to boost TV ratings.
One woman, Alexis M., is tired of the ongoing violence, and the show's perception that black women are crazy and angry.
Alexis created an online petition to get Evelyn and Chad's spin-off show canceled before it has even aired.
Not satisfied with just presenting signatures to VH1 (who is probably enjoying the free pub), Alexis M. is going after the show's advertisers, too. Alexis said one of the show's sponsors, Burger King, didn't even know what "Basketball Wives" was.

R&B singer Brian McKnight caused quite a stir earlier this week when he released a sexually graphic track called "(Let Me Show You How Your) Pu$$y Works". McKnight later admitted the song was a "joke" that he'd written because he was bored while laid up at home with a bum ankle.
R&B crooner Tank was not amused at McKnight's attention-seeking antics. Just because a man makes you wet and buckles your knees with his high notes, that doesn't make him a gentleman.
Tank, on the other hand, is always a gentleman who would never stoop to such tactics to get attention.
"That's not how you talk you to a woman!" said Tank while promoting his upcoming album on the WGCI Morning show on Wednesday. "First of all he's 57 years old with a mohawk... It was the old dude at the club trying to holla at the 21 year olds."

Emo rapper Nas dropped a sentimental track titled "Daughters" off his upcoming album, Life Is Good.
On the track, Nas wonders aloud if his promiscuous 17-year-old daughter Destiny would have turned out better if he wasn't such a whoremonger himself. Didn't he teach his daughter to respect herself even as he rapped about disrespecting other men's daughters? Nas waxes poetic about lavishing cash and jewels on his kid instead of giving of his time (which is free).
“They say the coolest playas are foulest heart breakers in the world
God gets us back, he makes us have precious little girls”
And now he laments the fact that his grown daughter is posting pics of condoms on Twitter and pretty much advertising her goodies. Nas sounds like a man who's worried about having to support a daughter and a future grandkid. She's a chip off the old block, as old folks would say. "Daughters" was produced by No ID.
Destiny's mother, Carmen Bryant, was outraged that Nas (who is known to be an attention whore) basically called their teenager a slut on a record. She came out swinging on Twitter.com Wednesday, saying Nas should have allowed his daughter to hear the song first.
"I think he really didn't realize how the song would affect Destiny. He should have allowed her to hear if first," she tweeted in one message.
Read what Carmen had to say, and listen to the track, after the break.

First the Secret Service brings prostitutes back to their hotel in Colombia, and now Fox News has invited Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan to the White House Correspondents dinner. This may be President Obama's correspondence dinner if he loses the election to Mitt Romney. What a way for him to leave office. The correspondence dinner is traditionally attended by journalists and their invitees -- usually media big wigs and their families.

Pilar Sanders' mugshot has hit the internets. In the mugshot taken at a Dallas jail last night following her arrest on domestic abuse charges, Pilar smirks at the camera. The fallout from Sanders' arrest is likely to be huge. She will certainly lose custody of her minor children, and any endorsements she acquired as a result of being married to former NFL star Deion Sanders.
A judge will probably force her to move out of the residence she shares with Deion, since he will ask for a restraining order. According to Deion's daughter, Deiondra Sanders, Pilar had refused to move out of the mansion.
Deion took to his Twitter page last night to tweet about the attack by Pilar and a female friend, known as @Toothickchick on Twitter.com.

There is no doubt that men are useful in a lot of ways. Unfortunately, men have two glaring weaknesses that could threaten an entire democracy -- sex and women.
As a group, men cannot be depended upon to maintain composure and professionalism when the opportunity for quick sex presents itself.
As demonstrated so disgracefully in Cartagena, Colombia -- the portion of a man's brain that is responsible for good judgment shuts off completely when he is in the presence of a sexy woman.
For that reason, the White House is considering hiring more female Secret Service agents in supervisory positions over men.
Agents such as Paula Reid, a black woman who blew the whistle on the 12 agents for cavorting with as many as 20 prostitutes in Colombia.

Sarah Palin lashed out at the ousted Secret Service supervisor who wrote on his Facebook that he was "checking her out," when he was supposed to be protecting the former Republican presidential candidate during a campaign stop in 2008.
David Chaney, one of two supervisors who was forced to resign from the Secret Service last week, wrote in 2009: "I was really checking her out, if you know what i mean?" -- in the caption under a photo of himself seemingly leering at Palin (above).
He also joked that he was "a stalker."
"Well, check this out, buddy — you're fired!" Palin said Thursday during a Fox News interview.
Palin blamed President Obama for his lax leadership and poor management of government which may have set the stage for the prostitute scandal in Cartagena, Colombia.
Calling the sex scandal "a symptom of government run amok," Palin cautioned the president to be wary of Secret Service agents around first lady Michelle Obama.
"It's like, who's minding the store around here?" Palin told Fox. "The president, for one, he better be wary, there, of when Secret Service is accompanying his family on vacation. They may be checking out the first lady instead of guarding her."

A loyal reader writes:
So I see many people don't have experience with coke and that's a good thing. Sadly, they think Rihanna is just rolling a blunt. Wrong. When you have a large quantity of cocaine such as the pile Rihanna has on that man's head, you do use some sort of paper (usually something firmer) to mix it and get the lumps out.

Kim Kardashian and her new bestie, NeNe Leakes were spotted leaving Nobu restaurant in West Hollywood, CA, last night. The two women are partners in a new shoe line that will launch soon. The ladies shared an awkward moment when NeNe leaned in to kiss Kim good night. My paparazzi friend tells me that Kim's head suddenly snapped back at the last minute. Either NeNe's breath was kickin' or Kim is one of those fake friends who blow air kisses.

The "Basketball Wives" publicity machine is running on all cylinders -- assisted by corny write ups on TMZ.com.
This entire season of BBQ Wives centers around 2 episodes -- this week's and next week's -- in which Jennifer Williams, Evelyn Lozada, and Evelyn's fake "assistant" Nia, go to war.
Nia fired the first salvo in January by slapping Jennifer (who I'm told will be paid a bonus for fighting). The slap was conveniently filmed by VH1 in January and aired in this week's episode.
Then, yesterday, TMZ reports that Jennifer filed a civil suit against Nia -- in April -- for a slap which occurred in January. Coincidentally, the civil suit was filed after the episode aired. I'm sure the courts don't take lightly to being pimped for television ratings.
How much are you willing to bet this frivolous civil suit will be dropped before it can be tossed out of court?

Rapper Nicki Minaj, 29, flew into a rage on Sunday and deleted her Twitter page, leaving millions of her Stans steaming mad.
According to loyal reader Ashland, Nicki became enraged when the webmaster of www.nickidaily.com, "one of her biggest supports and fan sites," posted leaked a music sampler of Nicki's latest CD on the website -- "and Nicki went ape shit and had her followers bash her" on Twitter.com.
In response to the bashing, Ashland says the webmaster abruptly shut down her website and deleted her Twitter account. That's when Nikki's followers -- the sane ones -- started bashing Nicki for being an online bully.
An exasperated Nicki tweeted: "Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good fucking bye," -- before deleting her Twitter account.
This all goes to show you how immature and irresponsible some celebrities can be. I mean really, a superstar like Nicki should know that bullying -- whether online or in person -- can drive an unstable person to commit suicide.
And, let's face it, most celebrity Stans are a bit unstable.

Nothing gets my attention faster than an arrogant celebrity threatening a lawsuit over something he did wrong.
This morning, while perusing my Twitter timeline, I stumbled upon a Twitter rant by Gina, owner of What About Our Daughters blog. It seems that Kevin Hart, star of Think Like A Man, posted an offensive, anti black woman cartoon on his facebook page and then threatened to sue anyone who re-posted it.
It seems that Hart has a history of making ignorant comments about black women on social websites. And when I say black women, I'm referring to women two shades darker than Rihanna -- the only type that Hart will date nowadays.
