fanMAIL: Angela Corey charged 12-year-old boy as an adult

Today I received an email from a loyal reader named Melissa. Melissa wanted to share her concern about Florida State Attorney Angela Corey possibly sabotaging the Trayvon Martin murder case by charging his killer with 2nd degree murder.

Melissa accused Corey of taking on the Trayvon case for political reasons — to gain back Republican support after she charged 12-year-old Christian Fernandez as an adult for sexually assaulting (and murdering) his 2-year-old brother in March 2011.

If convicted, Christian, now 13, will spend the rest of his life behind bars. Melissa wanted me to spread the word about this great injustice done to a 12-year-old kid.

Like most people with an agenda, Melissa conveniently left out the fact that Christian also sexually assaulted his 5-year-old brother on a number of occasions.

In my opinion, that makes him a sexual predator and a future pedophile. As I told Melissa in my response to her, Christian can not be rehabilitated. Some kids are born with a lack of empathy for the suffering of others. I believe Christian is one of those kids that you can’t teach to have empathy for others.

It’s better to lock people like him away from society for the public’s safety. I just feel sorry for the ones he is locked up with.

I am sure Melissa means well, but Christian Fernandez is a sick kid. Read an excerpt from her email after the break.

fanMAIL: Beyonce talking to a doll?

A loyal reader, who asked to remain anonymous, writes:

DO YOU REALLY THINK ALL THESE PEOPLE WOULD KEEP UP THE CHARADE OF HER REALLY CARRYING AROUND A DOLL? JUST A QUESTION.

What do you guys think? I’m going to say that the child Beyonce is holding in the left pic doesn’t look like the well-nourished baby/doll she’s been carrying around. These pics only add to the mystery.

fanMAIL: Zimmmerman doesn’t seem worried about a thing

Loyal reader Razan writes:

Hi Sandra,

I just wanted to comment on your Zimmerman post. I actually disagree with your assessment, and have since seeing this picture on the news last night lost my confidence in where this process is going. In my opinion, and I have not studied body language at all, this look is one of calm contempt. I was quite surprised to see how he has tanned and lost a few pounds, just enough to look healthier not gaunt or worried at all. There is a glimmer of contempt and smirk in his eyes, and his lips are pursed in silence as if hiding something.

In reflecting on the fact that they made sure to tell us that he turned himself in, I believe that this is the look of a man that has been told that this is just a formality, it does not mean we think you are guilty, this is for your protection and the protection of the public, etc, etc, etc. I think that they are pulling the wool over many people’s eyes.

The choice to charge Zimmerman with second-degree murder was just to make the burden of proof that much more difficult, and if anyone took the time to really listen to the comments made by everyone, they would understand that this was far from a victory (Sharpton: don’t start celebrating yet, we haven’t won anything; Traeyvon’s mother: we only wanted an arrest, just an arrest; Atty Crump: take a lesson from these people [the parents] and how peaceful they have been), etc.

Yes, although you could be very right and this man could very well have some mental issues, based on his facial expression he doesn’t seem worried about a thing. Very interesting indeed…

fanMAIL: Erykah Badu doesn’t care about her fans

Loyal reader Y’all Crazy sent in this account of a Erykah Badu concert she attended recently. It’s a long read, but it’s important for you to know what you might experience if you spend your hard earned rent money on Erykah Badu tickets. Erykah doesn’t care about you.

Gabrielle Union Covers JET Magazine

NBA superstar Dwyane Wade is one lucky guy. Not only is he dating one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood — Gabrielle Union — but she’s not even pressuring him to marry her like some selfish celebs we know.

Gabrielle, 40, covers this week’s issue of JET® Magazine on newsstands April 9.

Inside, she opens up to JET® Magazine’s editor in chief Mitzi Miller about her long term relationship with Wade, her budding interest in marriage—a staunch pre-requisite to having children—and the drama brought to her doorstep by her NBA superstar boyfriend Dwyane Wade’s ex-wife Siovaughn Wade.

Also in this week’s issue…

Hey Auntie Sandra,

Just wondering if you would do a medical minute on the effects of drugs and alcohol and what it can do to your body. I share your medical minutes with the high school girls I tutor. I value your knowledge and just wanted to share this video with you. It’s so sad.

Thanks,

Posche

fanMAIL: Stereotyping in hospital emergency rooms

Yesterday’s post about a black woman who died after being profiled as a drug seeker by an emergency room physician hit home with a number of my readers.

One reader told me she didn’t realize she was stereotyped by emergency room doctors and nurses until she read my post. Below are a few of the emails from loyal readers who shared their experiences with indifferent health care professionals in emergency rooms around the country.

Loyal reader Kim H. writes:

Thank you Sandra for your advice in the Anna Brown story!

Years ago before I entered the medical field, I went to the ED. I had chest pains and feared for my life. I was seen by the physician, and could not for the life of me understand why he was so angry. I ABSOLUTELY hate that I let him blow me off, and call me a liar. This happened years ago, and I almost want to request my medical records so I can file a complaint. I think I will. Wish me luck.

Kim H.
