The word came down in a hushed Manhattan courtroom on Friday. At 4:30 p.m. prosecutors announced to the media that a NY grand jury cleared ex-McDonald's cashier Rayon McIntosh of all felony assault charges connected with the savage beating of two female customers that was caught on tape.
"I'm just glad to be home," McIntosh, 31, told DNAinfo after being released from Rikers Island Friday night. "I feel elated, I feel splendid."
McIntosh, who served 11 years in prison for manslaughter, was fired from his job after the incident took place at a Greenwich Village McDonald's in July. He spent the next seven weeks in a Rikers Island jail cell praying and awaiting his fate.
"We were begging them to get security," McIntosh told DNAinfo.com by phone early Saturday morning. "The McDonald's itself is a problematic store. It has a high, concentrated number of people every day. "In the Village, it's crazy."
The restaurant's owner, Carmen Paulino, told DNAinfo that she hired security to patrol the restaurant every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. After the incident, which occurred early on a Thursday morning, she hired additional security for Wednesday nights as well.
But police sources told DNAinfo after the incident that McDonald's management chose not to hire off-duty NYPD officers to patrol the restaurant because it "wasn't in their financial interest."

The Wing Stop in Memphis that rapper Rick Ross invested in was already open for business by the time he made it there from an Alabama hospital in the early morning hours of Sunday, Oct. 16.
TMZ.com reported the "Boss" suffered two seizures while on board two separate jets that delayed his arrival in Memphis over the weekend. But, yesterday, music producer Khaled tweeted this pic of a frail looking Ross at his Wing Stop restaurant.
We're not sure why bloggers think Ross's seizures are related to his massive wight. Seizures are caused by electrical disturbances in the brain -- not in the stomach.
One would think that if the first seizure didn’t encourage Ross to slow down and rest then the second round would cinch that situation. But no, as DJ Khaled tweeted a photo of the two at a Memphis Wing Stop restaurant last night (Oct. 16) with the caption "My brother ROZAY!! IS GOOD!!!," meaning Ross had finally made it to Memphis--and most likely not on doctor’s orders. His former romantic interest Elise Neal even spoke about Ross' situation, "I think they're [Def Jam and Ross’s camp] pushing him too hard. They don't think about him or his health, pushing him to do all these videos, pushing tours and shows’…’He is not 20 years old anymore…”
A McDonald's cashier is in hot water after beating two unruly female customers with a metal rod, according to DNAinfo.com.
The two women, one a Stud and the other a femme, were seriously injured following a physical altercation with cashier Rayon McIntosh, 31, at the West 3rd Street restaurant in Greenwich Village, NY early Thursday.
The video, shot by a customer, shows Denise Darbeau, 24, of Queens, and her friend, Rachel Edwards, 24, of Brooklyn -- arguing loudly with McIntosh after he told them he had to authenticate their $50 bill. Darbeau and Edwards reached over the counter and slapped McIntosh, who shoved them back.
Both women then leapt over the counter and approached McIntosh who took them both out with a metal rod.
A customer can be heard screaming "STOOOOP!" "CALL THE POLICE!" as McIntosh (pictured above in blue cap) continued to beat the women who lay wounded on the floor of the restaurant. Darbeau (the Stud) got the worst of it. McIntosh beat her so badly she suffered a cracked skull and a broken arm.
The beating ended when a male co-worker wrestled the metal rod out of McIntosh's hands.
Loyal reader BK2ATLMAN wrote in to let us know all about his experiences at T.I.'s "A King Of Oneself" Birthday Brunch on Sunday, October 2nd!
I just wanted to thank you again for the tickets. It was a great event. Before I tell all the details, I also wanted to give a shout out to Hannah Kang, who welcomed me and my business partner, made sure we had our table and was just an overall great person. Cute smile too...
The place was beautiful, everything was setup perfect. There was an open Ciroc bar, so that was one of my best friends throughout the day. Can't believe everyone was getting sauced that early in the day. The food was good, except for some egg seafood thing that just wasn't the business. The chicken breast was the bomb, but after a couple bites it was done.
My table was the bomb, on the left of me I had the A&R from badboy and on the right side of me I had Shawn Holiday from Interscope, who I already knew. I made tons of new connections and might have to cut you a check in the near future.. lol.
