Celebs Out & About: Ciara

Butch looking pseudo singer Ciara hides her face under an Atlanta Braves cap and black hoodie as she makes her way into the Warren Tricomi salon in Hollywood to get her weave tightened up yesterday. There’s word that Ciara is contemplating a move back East after telling friends she’s bored with the celebrity-driven lifestyle in L.A. “She’s sorry she moved [to L.A. from Atlanta]. She’s just another bug in the rug out in L.A.,” one of CiCi’s closest pals tells Sandrarose.com. The insider said friends continue to worry about CiCi’s mental and emotional well being after her quiet breakup with rapper 50 Cent.

It seems CiCi thought her move to L.A. would bring her more fame (and happiness), but instead she found that she got more attention when she was in Atlanta — and she didn’t have to call the paparazzi to tell them where she was going to be. It’s hard for a narcissist when you’re surrounded by bigger narcissists than you.

More after the break…

Tiny and Toya Cover Hype Hair Magazine

Tameka “Tiny” Cottle and Antonia “Toya” Carter look stunning on the cover of this month’s Hype Hair magazine.

In a recent interview with Honey mag, the ladies shared their relationship experience and wisdom with their younger fans by telling them that it’s not okay to be loose with their bodies. Hopefully, the young ladies will take heed of their advice.

How soon is too soon to get intimate with a guy?
Toya: When you first meet him like in the first 8 months. I think that’s too soon. Some of them just want to talk to you because of who you know, who you are, what you’re doing so you have to test them out. I want to know if you like me or who I am associated with. You have to feel them out.

Bad guy or good guy? Who are you more attracted to and why?
Tiny: Honestly I’ve always been into the bad boy – I can’t lie. Something about the bad boy just attracts me, just gets my attention you know? There are some good guys that I can think of now that can be sexy, now that I’m older. But when I was younger, it would always be the bad boy.

Toya: I don’t like a softy softy but I don’t like a thug either. The reason why is because I don’t need any thugs around me. I have a daughter. I need someone who is well-established, not into a lot of BS, and very family-oriented. Someone that is cool and not on no dumb stuff. You can’t just bring everybody around your kids. I’m dating. I need someone I can bring home to my daughter. Not just anybody can come around her.

The 2nd season of the popular Tiny and Toya Show premieres on BET April 13th.

Riker’s Guard Reveals Lil Wayne’s First Few Days in Prison

On Monday, Rapper Lil Wayne began serving a 12 month sentence for weapons possession at NY’s infamous Riker’s Island prison. With rumors of gang threats against his life weighing heavy on his mind, Wayne made the brave decision to mingle with the prison population rather than accept a cell on an isolaton ward.

Still, according to a Riker’s guard who spoke with blogger Combat Jack, Wayne has been receiving special treatment from Riker’s corrections officers, two of whom have already been written up for bending the prison’s rules for Weezy:

“…A couple of guards have been written up, only because they’ve acted like fans, having more personal interaction with Wayne than is procedure, prolly acting all star struck, which, once again, the system does it’s best to discourage… For the most part though, Wayne has been pretty quiet, staying mostly inside his jail cell. There doesn’t seem to be anyone, any faction trying to get at him in any harmful way, because he’s new and because he hasn’t violated any of the codes customary to inmate living the prison life. As I was told, it’s too early to determine how the rest of his experience will be, but so far, so good. It’s all in Lil Wayne’s hands.“

The guard also said the prison has been inundated with calls from Wayne’s camp questioning if the prison will force Wayne to cut his dreads. Prison officials say that as long as Wayne’s dreads are real (and he keeps them neat and clean) they won’t be chopped off. Hopefully, they’re real.

The NY prison system provides barbers and beauticians for the inmates to keep them looking presentable free of charge.

Celebs Out & About: Diddy

Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was spotted leaving the Black Eyed Peas concert at the Paladium in LA last night. Puff was the fodder of many blog posts this week after his first baby mama, Misa Hylton, called him and his other baby mama Kim Porter out during a radio interview.

It’s interesting to note that Misa was aware of Sean’s other baby mama, Sarah Chapman, for almost 16 years. But the two women only recently became friends after Sarah’s adorable baby girl Chance was born. Before Chance was born, Sarah and Misa never once exchanged words or greetings. They weren’t friends at all. But now Sarah and Misa absolutely “adore” each other’s children, and they make their friendship work for the children.

That’s what mature, intelligent women do: they selflessly put their children first!

By the way, Misa is is putting out her own hair line, according to TaSh. The line is called Unconfined Coif, and uses only quality Yaki. Misa not only owns the line but she wears it too! Until now, it’s been difficult finding human hair weave that is manufactured and distributed by a sistah. Good for her!

The Young Turks Weigh In On the Baby Wigs Controversy

Our precious little Lacefront Baby is becoming a legend in her own time. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, co-hosts of the popular Young Turks radio show, tackle the issue of wigs on a baby.

They seem to agree with me that lacefront wigs (made popular by Beyonce) look hideous on our beautiful black women and children. “The baby is cute but the wig is not. It’s freaking me out,” declares Cenk.

Are You Ashamed of Your Baby’s Baldness? Baby Wigs A Disturbing Trend?

I had no idea that my recent post on the cutie pie Lacefront Baby would draw so much attention from around the country. I’m still getting emails about that post (including one from the baby’s family threatening a lawsuit).

Talk Diva Tyra Banks tackled the issue of baby wigs on a recent episode of her hit show. And now Parent Dish has also weighed in on the controversy.

Mommy-n-me wigs may just be the most disturbing parenting trend we’ve heard in a long time, and The Frisky agrees with us. That site wants to know what’s next: Thong diapers?

How about coordinating stripper poles, one for the nursery and one for the master bedroom? Or better yet, twin therapists to deal with their matching self-esteem issues? Suri’s high heels are starting to look a lot more innocent with every waking moment.

We even found an entire site dedicated to hair-raising a child.

Not surprising that super models want to check out the trend. Here’s a discussion of baby wigs on the Tyra Banks show:

Celebrity Seeds Out Of Control

I give up trying to understand why Will & Jada let their kids do this to their hair. It is neither cute nor fashionable to look like a walking cartoon or a one-hit wonder.

Do better Will and Jada!
