Anderson: Janet Jackson’s Advice for Bobbi Kristina (video)
Janet Jackson was Anderson Cooper’s special guest this week on his daytime talk show, Anderson. The superstar discussed her feelings about the sudden death of Whitney Houston, and offered advice to Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina.
Anderson: What advice do you have for her family for her kid. For her child?
Janet: It’s a very very tough time. Even though it’s still a loss. I lost my brother, she lost her mother. There’s still a difference, even though there’s a still a loss to a family, I don’t know what that’s like being so young. It was hard for me. It was very very difficult for me. I didn’t want to accept it, it’s very difficult. You have to come to terms at some point, you have to actually give it up to God and it sounds so mean but you have to move on you can’t hold onto that because it can be very devastating. Sometimes therapy is the best thing.
Anderson: TV People always use that word closure when they are talking about loss, as someone who has lost family members as well, I don’t think there is such a thing as closure. I think that’s a made up TV word.
Janet: No, I don’t think there is either, but you have to go on with life. You figure out a way to move on. It’s always right here. There’s never a day, not one day has gone by where I don’t think about my brother and my other brothers and sisters say the same thing.
Watch video clips of the interview after the break. Tune in to Anderson on Monday, Feb 20, for the full interview.

Janet on Whitney As A Performer
Was Madonna’s SB 46 Halftime Performance the Greatest Ever?

That’s what everyone is saying this morning after the BY Giants upended the hapless New England Patriots to win Super Bowl XLVI 21-17. The 53-year-old pop icon rode into the arena on a chariot worthy of the gods. She launched into a performance of her hit single “Vogue” before performing her current single “Give Me All Your Lovin’” with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.
Madonna didn’t miss a step as the athletic superstar danced her heart out and threw in a couple of cartwheels onstage. But it was M.I.A.’s flip of a finger that caused most of the buzz from last night’s performance. Some are comparing M.I.A’s middle finger flip to Janet Jackson’s intentional disrobing in 2004′s Super Bowl.
That may be a bit of a stretch when you consider that M.I.A. flipped the bird so quickly that most of America missed it. Still, M.I.A.’s obscene gesture may have stolen the show from Madge. Watch the video after the break.

Jackson Family Feud Over Tribute Concert (video)

Three of Michael Jackson’s siblings were no-shows at his “Forever Michael” Tribute concert in England over the weekend.
Pop star Janet Jackson and her brothers, Randy and Jermaine Jackson, decided not to attend the tribute concert because they considered it inappropriate to hold the concert while the Conrad Murray manslaughter trial was still ongoing in Los Angeles.
In a statement to the Associated Press, Janet, 45, said “Because of the trial, the timing of this tribute to our brother would be too difficult for me,” her statement reads.
Her older brothers Randy, 49, and Jermaine, aka Muhammed Abdul Aziz, 56, released a joint statement on the day the concert was announced:
“There will come a time and place for an amazing and deserving tribute to Michael,” the brothers’ statement read. “But we feel that the most important tribute we can give to our brother at this time is to seek justice in his name.”
According to ABC News, there is also criticism that the Jackson family is keeping some of the money that’s supposed to be earmarked for charities. There are rumors that this is the reason several A-list celebrities pulled out of the concert.
