Who Knew Keyshia Cole Had a Stalker?

Last night, while talking to a record label executive about another matter, the exec casually mentioned that R&B singer Keyshia Cole was back home in Atlanta after being chased out of her mini mansion by a stalker in 2009.

The exec went on to say that Cole abandoned her beloved home for the safety of the west coast to get away from her determined super Stan, who was eventually caught with a large cache of weapons and sent to prison.

“She’s back in Atlanta checking on her house because he can’t bother her any more,” the executive told me.

Keyshia considered putting her custom built 5 bedroom, 5.5 bath Alpharetta home on the market in 2009 after a stranger followed her home one night. “I own a gun – a Glock… and I called the police and told them I’d kill him and that I prefer not to,” said Keyshia in a cover story for the June 2009 issue of KING magazine.

Keyshia paid $827,000 in June 2006 for the 5,447 square foot home located in a posh subdivision in Johns Creek. But the depressed housing market sparked by the failing economy sent home prices plummeting in her neighborhood. Homes on Keyshia’s street are now selling in the low to mid 500K range.

What She Said…

Singer Keyshia Cole let her hood side come out on Twitter today. I’m not sure what prompted that outburst on Twitter since I never go to that website. But whatever it was, I hate to see a young mom lose control and throw a tantrum in such a public manner when she normally tweets about God and Blessings. Call me, Keyshia!

Moving on, don’t Keyshia and her hubby-to-be, Daniel “Booby” Gibson, look cute on the cover of this tattoo magazine?

Update:

Loyal reader Mz. Kim emailed me to explain why Keyshia was so upset this morning. She writes: “In regard to why Keyshia is upset with Mediatakeout. [They] posted some nude pictures from a text message and said that it was her.”

Okay, now I remember reading something about nude pics on Twitter yesterday. But me knowing Keyshia, and knowing she doesn’t get down like that, I totally dismissed the rumors without even seeing the pics. Why couldn’t she ignore the rumors also?

A few years ago, some moron manufactured a fake rumor about Beyonce taking out a restraining order against me. The rumor still persists today. But I couldn’t care less. In fact, I joke about the phantom restraining order, because anyone who knows me knows that there is no restraining order. Why couldn’t Keyshia just joke about the pics and defuse the situation by taking away their ammunition? I’m just asking.

Keyshia Cole and Manager Manny Halley Part Ways

Three weeks after admitting that releasing a single with rapper Nicki Minaj was the wrong move, singer Keyshia Cole officially dumped her manager, Manny Halley. Cole made the announcement yesterday via her Twitter.com account.

But Sandrarose.com readers already knew this was coming.

Manny Halley’s decision to release “I Ain’t Thru” as the first single off Keyshia’s new CD Calling All Hearts, caused a rift between Keyshia’s management and her label, Interscope Records.

In a recent interview with the AP, Cole admitted that she bore part of the blame for releasing the disastrous single with Minaj.

The label didn’t really want to drop the record because they knew that people wanted a more intense, soulful record from me about love and I really should have followed (their) direction. But I wanted that to be a statement record. It’s like saying, ‘I’m doing me, you know. I don’t have no regrets for nothing that I’m doing’

As I noted in an earlier post, Cole failed to mention the power struggle between Halley and Interscope records that spilled from the boardroom into the streets, and reached the ear of a certain notorious blogger.

Once label execs began openly expressing their disdain for Halley, word spread around the industry like wildfire that Cole had dumped Halley as her manager and hired a woman to manage her affairs.

In an effort to contain the rumors before she could release an official statement, Cole and her publicist, Tresa Sanders, reached out to Sandrarose.com on December 16, 2010. Although the content of that call can not be made public, I will tell you that Keyshia sounded very concerned about the information that had already leaked out of Interscope Records.

One Interscope record label exec told me the album sounded like it was “rushed in the studio.” The exec, who asked to remain anonymous, indicated that the higher ups at the label weren’t happy with the end product and they voted to shelve the album indefinitely. But, he said, Keyshia’s management (Halley) insisted that the album be released.

“There’s no way to predict how people will respond to things,” said Ron Fair, chairman of Geffen (Interscope) Records. “It’s something that Keyshia really wanted to say.”

Calling All Hearts is in stores now.

Kanye’s Horrorcore ‘Monster’ music video; Keyshia Cole on Chelsea Lately

Apologies for the slow posts today. There is only one of me and I had to take care of some business this morning. So you’re getting two posts instead of one.

Kanye West’s horrorcore “Monster” music video premiered yesterday. My writeup on the music video is here, in case you missed it.

And last night, R&B singer Keyshia Cole appeared on the Chelsea Lately Show. Let me know what she said, because I didn’t have time to watch.

Celebrity Seed: Keyshia Cole

R&B singer Keyshia Cole took her son, Daniel “Stinky” Gibson Jr., to watch his daddy, Boobie play against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Cleveland Cavaliers lost the game 98-97 in Cleveland. Keyshia tweeted throughout the game, and was disappointed when the Cavs coach benched her man.

Keyshia’s album, Calling All Hearts, debuted last week with 128k in first week sales.

Keyshia Cole admits releasing a single with Nicki Minaj was a bad idea

Thanks to blogger Toya for finding this nugget of information on Keyshia Cole. According to the AP, the R&B Diva regrets her decision to release her single “I Ain’t Thru” from her new CD Calling All Hearts, featuring newcomer rapper Nicki Minaj.

Though her rap style is cartoonish, Minaj is the hottest thing smoking in Hip Hop right now. And it’s understandable that Cole wanted some of that heat on her record. But Cole now admits that that particular single wasn’t the right vehicle for both of them to jump on.
