Mother drowns twins in retaliation for husband’s cheating

A vindictive mother who suspected her husband of cheating on her drowned their twins and attempted to suffocate their 4-year-old sister in their Tacony, Philadelphia home.
Stacey Smalls, 41, is charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of her 18-month-old twins, Adam and Eve, by drowning one and smothering the other.
Smalls is believed to have committed the homicides in a jealous rage after discovering her husband had cheated on her.

The murders were committed on Thursday, before Ron Smalls returned home from work as a corrections officer.
Ron Smalls dialed 911 after discovering the bodies of his babies on a bed in the front room, and his wife still alive after she slashed her wrists in a suicide attempt.
Update: No Charges for Babysitter Whose Acquaintance Put Toddler in Washing Machine

Update: Police have contacted the mother of a 1-year-old baby boy who was seen trapped inside a washing machine on a viral YouTube video.
The video was uploaded to YouTube where it garnered millions of hits.
The mother, Sakia David, 24, told NBC10 she left her son, Saimeir Bush, in the care of a babysitter earlier this month.
The babysitter, along with an acquaintance whom Sakia says she did not know, took Saimeir to the Federal Laundromat in Camden a couple of weeks ago.
Sakia told NBC10 had no idea what had happened to her son until she saw the video footage on the evening news. Sakia said she asked the babysitter about the incident but the babysitter denied that was Saimeir in the video.
Sakia said she believes the incident was an accident and that the unidentified male was playing with her son when he put Saimeir in the washer.
All the same, Sakia says she won’t use the unidentified baby sitter again.
“Nobody should ever put a child in a washing machine,” said Saimeir’s grandmother Doreen Bey.
The Prosecutor’s Office told NBC10 they have spoken with the babysitter and her male acquaintance but no one will be charged.

Update: Dharun Ravi Sentenced to Just 30 Days in Prison for Filming Gay Tryst

A New Brunswick judge today sentenced 20-year-old Dharun Ravi to just 30 days in prison for his role in a webcam invasion of privacy incident which resulted in the suicide of Rutgers student Tyler Clementi.
Ravi, a former Rutgers student, had faced up to 20 years in prison.
The judge, who apparently wasn’t affected by intense media pressure, also didn’t order Ravi to be deported to his native India after he serves his sentence.
Ravi had earlier rejected two plea deals which would have sent him to prison for 3-5 years.
Ravi shed tears as his mother read a statement during the hearing, saying he was “broken into pieces” by Clementi’s death in 2010.
Video: Trayvon Martin Moments Before He Died

A convenience store video provides a glimpse into the final moments of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin just before he crossed paths with George Zimmerman on Feb. 26, in Sanford, Florida.
The video shows Trayvon purchasing a can of Arizona ice tea and a pack of Skittles at a 7-11 minutes before he was shot and killed by Zimmerman, a neighborhood watchman. Trayvon, wearing a dark gray hoodie and sagging pants, is seen walking to the cooler at the rear of the store and then proceeding to the counter to pay for his purchases.
LIAR! Zimmerman’s Photos Do Not Show Life Or Death Struggle
After months of feet dragging, covers up and outright lies by the Sanford police department and the national media, the photographs of George Zimmerman’s injuries the night he shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin have finally been released.
The good quality photos show superficial scratches on Zimmerman’s face and on the back of his head. The photos do not prove Zimmerman’s claims that he was in a life and death struggle with the unarmed teenager when he shot and killed him.
