New Music: Mary J Blige ft. Jay Sean – Each Tear
Remember when I told you guys that the music industry is going in a different direction away from Hip Hop and R&B? Here’s more proof in this new video for Mary J Blige’s “Each Tear” off Mary’s album Stronger With Each Tear.
Aside from the obvious fact that her duet is with a non-black artist, do you notice how the video features extras who are mostly Caucasian and mixed children as opposed to Mary’s core demographic?
Mary J. Blige Loses Her Cool in Front of Hollywood Royalty

It’s easy to tell when a sistah’s love life is lacking by the way she treats others around her.
According to online reports, Mary J Blige forgot her manners and chewed out her band in front of A-listers and industry execs at a pre-GRAMMY event inside the Beverly Hilton’s international ballroom last night. They say just as the band was about to strike up Mary’s hit “No More Drama”, Mary began flailing her arms and demanded to know, “Can we get the right music for Mary J Blige?”
[For the benefit of those who don't know, a classic sign of narcissism is when one refers to oneself in the third person.]
Anyway, she added: “Are we practicing still?” as the audience, which included Barbra Streisand, Jane Fonda, Usher, Taylor Swift and Joan Collins, looked on in disbelief because clearly, the band was not practicing, and it is not proper to disrespect top notch musicians at such a high profile event.
Mary eventually got herself together and continued her performance, and the well-heeled audience gave her a standing ovation, which was probably meant for the band.
Greg Phillinganes the legendary musical director of Mary C Blige’s band said later that the diva was right to halt the music and diss the musicians.
He explained that his ear piece wasn’t inserted properly and he hadn’t heard what the singer had said. Although I’m not sure what that has to do with Mary’s bad manners.

I’ll be dining out tonight, so, unfortunately, I will miss the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast (as I always do every year). You can use this open thread to jot down your thoughts and opinions on tonight’s show, or whatever else is on your mind.
Don’t forget, tomorrow I’m posting my revealing videotaped interview with actress and former First Lady LisaRaye, who co-hosted the Trumpet Awards over the weekend!
Below and after the break are photos from last night’s Clive Davis pre-GRAMMY party.

Remember when Usher was king of R&B? It’s a shame what Tameka Foster did to his career.

Keri Hilson looks like the statue of liberty in this gold chainlink dress with shimmering gold powder dust all over her body. Too much?

Jermaine Jackson Denies Rumors That Chris Brown and MJB Will Be No-Shows

Michael Jackson’s older brother Jermaine is busy trying to salvage his Michael Jackson Tribute concert in Vienna after online media floated rumors that the two biggest names on the lineup won’t appear.
According to to Reuters, Jermaine, 54, confirms that Mary J. Blige will be busy at a fashion event in Italy that same day. But he claims she will fly in to perform the second half of the concert, which is scheduled for Sept. 26.
We already know that Chris Brown is a convicted felon who probably can’t leave the country without permission from his probation officer. But Jermaine says, “He wants to be here. It’s just up to what he’s going through with his court case right now. “He’s definitely going to be here.”
Jackson also denied rumors that his family refuse to throw their full support behind the tribute concert.
“I invited my mother, I invited my brothers and sisters as well,” he said during a news conference in London. “I am not happy with the talk being said in the press about the support isn’t there. My mother from the very start supported this.”
Of course he’s referring to TMZ’s report that his mother, Katherine Jackson, and brothers question why Jermaine is holding a tribute concert in a city that has no connection to Michael.

There’s only one word to explain this picture: GORGEOUS! Mary J Blige and Taraji P. Henson attended the NY premiere of “Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All By Myself” at the SVA Theater last night.

UNBEWEAVEABLE! Turn around, girl, let me look at you! LOVE the hair! That’s right, show these young chicks how to rock the real hair and still look glamorous!

LOVE the shoes! Rihanna, are you looking?

Multimedia personality and gossip blogger Egypt attended the premiere with her soon-to-be hubby. And look, he’s not gay! Why is it that New York woman can spot a gay man from a mile away but southern women can’t?

Is it just me or is director Tyler Perry looking quite manly in this pic with Mary J Blige and one of the child stars of his movie?
