YouTube Sensation, Kreayshawn, Signs $1M Sony Deal

According to online reports, YouTube rap sensation Kreayshawn’s Internet buzz is so loud that mega record labels are taking notice. The baby faced 20-year-old has reportedly landed a $1 million record deal with Sony Music.

When she’s not rapping, the self-proclaimed “occasional lesbian” directs music videos for East Bay rapper Lil B.

Since her performance at SXSW in Austin, Texas in March, Kreayshawn has had the Internet going nuts. Rumored to have recently signed a $1 million contract with Sony after dropping her new video, ‘Gucci Gucci,’ which accrued 1.6 million hits on YouTube in two weeks, Kreayshawn is the next logical step for hipster hip-hop fans, following fellow West Coast oddball-indie success stories Odd Future and Lil B. (The Boom Box)

Earlier this week, Kreayshawn hinted that the Sony deal was on the table:

“[As far as the deal with Sony] nothing is finalized yet,” she told Complex. “We took meetings with every label. They’re not the only people we met with. We’ll make an announcement when everybody is ready, but right now, that’s basically just a rushed ahead rumor. It’s not that exciting. Whatever we end up choosing, it’s going to be a well-thought out decision.” (Complex)

New Music: K. Michelle – How Many Times

Up-and-coming singer K. Michele is a protege of troubled singer/songwriter R. Kelly. She is the only artist featured on his Love Letter album.

The 25-year-old Memphis, TN native, who sounds like a mix between Keyshia Cole and Kelly Rowland, signed to JIVE Records in 2008. Her new single “How Many Times” is currently rocketing up the urban charts. A music video for the single is due out any day now.

K. Michelle, real name Kimberly Michelle Pate, made a little noise last night when she snatched celebrity blogger Necole bitchie’s wig on the social networking website Twitter.com.

K.michelle is a single mother to a seven year old son Chase Bowman.

How Many Times
[Verse 1]
If you were hurt like I was before
Ladies go turn up your radio
Cause Imma sing this one for us, yeah
See they complain about our attitude
Talk about the things we do
To me it seems so obvious
They like it, they keep coming, keep coming back
For more, yea

You always so quick to up and criticize
I got my flaws and yes I realize
I became so hard to deal with cuz this part of my heart is so tired

[Chorus]
How many times, how many times, how many times
Ooh, I caught you on the phone with her
How many times, how many times, how many times
Did I take you back and you broke my heart
Ooh this song know how I feel
You betrayed my love
ooh and the moral of the story is
How many times
How many times

When Twitter Goes Horribly Wrong…

Last night, up-and-coming singer K. Michelle went on a Twitter rant calling out celebrity blogger Necole bitchie for being a bitter wannabe recording artist who blackballs successful studio artists such as herself.

I thought K. Michelle’s rants against NB were interesting considering that I’ve heard rumors about Necole (allegedly) accepting favors and perks from record labels to write favorable posts about lame singers, such as Trey Songz.

Remember I told you last year that NB enlisted the aid of industry exec Michael Kyser to groom her into a recording artist? Many of you scoffed at me for saying NB took up blogging to better position herself to get a record deal.

Well, here’s what K. Michelle tweeted about that:

Lets be real @necolebitchie u are one big head hatin ass blogger. U see me fightin 4these girls but u continue 2block my material cuz u ride dicks. U have a real problem with me 4 no reason. Its not my fault u didnt get a record deal. #stupidbitch @necolebitchie I love my job but hollywood people like u R sad. All I wanna do is help women do better. U R a blogger not a artist. Remember Im not kissing yo ass for a post on ur blog. Fuck u take this and sit on it. Keep black ballin me,ima keep singing. Three things I know how 2do 1.sing 2.be honest 3.and fight 4what I believe in. Good night

If you recall, I also wrote a blurb about NB hastily packing her bags and moving to Miami 2 years ago after a breakup with a certain female singer:

Necole was reportedly despondent over her breakup with a not so well-known female singer who was spending a lot of time in Atlanta. So Necole was happy to move to Miami to put some distance between herself and the chick.

Now, I have no idea if the singer was K. Michelle or not. So please don’t quote me on that.

Adele Doesn’t Care What You Think…

British pop singer Adele, whose sophomore album, 21, just went platinum in America, graces the cover of Rolling Stone magazine this week.

In the cover story, Adele gave serious thought to our infatuation with her weight — and why she always sits when she sings. Adele matter-of-factly said she’s quite happy with her current size and she has no intentions of dieting or exercising any time soon.

Adele made no excuses for her weight. She said she loves eating sugary foods, and her weight gain is an acceptable side effect of her high caloric intake.

She said: “My life is full of drama and I won’t have time to worry about something as petty as what I look like. I don’t like going to the gym.

“I love my food. I like eating fine foods and drinking nice wine,” she said.

Then, in an apparent dig at singers Rihanna and Beyoncé — both of whom can’t seem to keep their clothes on — she added, “Even if I had a really good figure, I don’t think I’d get my tits and ass out for no one.”

Adele also reflected on her debilitating stage fright and her Stan-like worship of American singer Beyoncé.

“I’m scared of audiences. One show in Amsterdam I was so nervous I escaped out the fire exit. I’ve thrown up a couple of times.

“Once in Brussels I projectile vomited on someone. I just gotta bear it. But I don’t like touring. I have anxiety attacks a lot.”

“I was about to meet Beyoncé and I had a full-blown anxiety attack. Then she popped in looking gorgeous, and said, ‘You’re amazing! When I listen to you I feel like I’m listening to God.’”

“I went out on the balcony crying hysterically, and I said, ‘What would Sasha Fierce do?’ That’s when Sasha Carter was born.’”

Adele’s sophomore album, 21, soared up the charts in America to become the first platinum-selling album of 2011.

21 is also the most downloaded album in history on Amazon.co.uk.

She said 21 was inspired by her devastating breakup from her former boyfriend.

“He was artistic, but not romantic. We’d just bicker over a cup of tea or the fact that my lighter wasn’t working,” she said. “He made me an adult and put me on the road that I’m travelling on.”

Who Knew That Kalenna of Dirty Money Was Married With Child?

Until today I had no idea that “The Voice” of Dirty Money — the gorgeous Kalenna — was married with child.

Kalenna recently sat down for an intimate interview with The Buzz in the City blog, in which she discussed her fear of clowns, working with Diddy, and what it’s like to be a solo artist since her teens.

She also revealed that she’s been married for 7 years to her manager; and they have a 4-year-old son together.

“We both balance time with our son. His well-being is our first priority. We work hard now so that he can go to the best schools, learn foreign languages, and travel the world.

My husband has always been supportive of my career and instrumental in everything I’ve accomplished. My husband is my must have, we’re a team. I can’t function without him, and I need him by my side at all times.”

Do you want more children?

“Yes, I would like 6 children if possible.”

Chris Brown Loves Rebecca Black’s “Friday” Video

Troubled singer Chris Brown was a guest on Hot 99.5′s Kane Show, this morning. Kane and his morning crew were surprised to learn that Brown had never heard of the YouTube sensation, Rebecca Black’s “Friday” video. As of this morning, “Friday” has garnered over 17 million views on YouTube, and it’s leaping up the chart on iTunes.

According to Popeater.com, Rebecca’s parents shelled out the thousand or so dollars to Ark Music Factory, a company out of LA that pairs aspiring young singers with talented musicians, producers and songwriters to make music videos.

It’s a great concept when you really think about it: no record companies to put your album on the shelf for years while they hassle you with reams of paperwork to sign your life away so they can make millions of dollars off of you while you end up broke and toothless like 50 Cent and other rappers will soon be.

Anyway, Chris claimed he’d never heard of Rebecca or her catchy viral video hit, “Friday”, even though she’s been trending on Twitter for the past 3 days. So Kane played it for him.

“I’m never a hater. I thought it was great.” Brown told Kane. “I’ll be jammin’ to it on Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday.”

Meanwhile, Rebecca — if that’s even her real name — was a guest on ‘Good Morning America’ this morning. She’s only 13-years-old, and she’s not at all impressed with her first taste of fame. The budding singer, who seems like a nice kid, has just discovered that not everyone is going to like her or her song.

She said it doesn’t bother her that people think “Friday” is the worst song ever. It’s the harsh YouTube comments telling her to go “cut herself” and “get an eating disorder” that crossed the line in her book.

Ne-Yo’s Ex-Girlfriend, Jessica, Wants You To Know…

Isn’t it funny how “anonymous” readers seem to get so emotionally wrapped up in a post that has nothing to do with them? This is the third such email I’ve received today from readers defending “Jessica and her son” who I supposedly posted pics of in my post on Ne-Yo yesterday. For the record, I did not post any pics of the boy.

I know these emails are Jessica’s doing. Why won’t she just admit it’s her?

Jessica (or someone close to her) writes:

HI SANDRA,

I’m reading your post, and I think its extremely whack that you are posting pictures of Jessica and her son. Without having facts, Ne-yo knew from the beginning that the child wasn’t his via the LA county courthouse from the moment he was concived. Also it clearly states Ne-Yo had adopted that lil boy, got famous and re-nigged thats why she took him to court because she had to legally. I think its unfair that ppl keep dogging her out, just because she didn’t tell everybody. If you recall ne-yo put that statement out 1st saying someone was gonna lie on him.

Anyway I thought you might be interested in knowing that Ne-Yo’s ex girl is doing her thing,…. I figured out she changed her name to Phoenix she’s pretty and has new song out, I checked out her videos and she’s seems to have some talent. I just downloaded it from her mixtape, called ChickMix. Its Free so I figured what the hell.

She damn sure looks better than the other chick he keeps having all those damn babies with…..

I saved some flicks from her Facebook and attached the song if you’re interested.

I’m not interested. But here’s the song in case some of you are:
