Vogue Editor Anna Wintour Banned Kim Kardashian from MET Costume Gala

According to the NY Post‘s gossip column Page Six, Vogue editor-for-life, Anna Wintour, banned reality Tv star Kim Kardashian from attending her celebrity-studded MET Costume Gala on Monday. Good for her! At least somebody in the media has good taste and common sense.

Kardashian’s bestie, rapper Kanye West, attended the event solo, wearing a black tux but no Kim on his arm. This led many to guess correctly that their relationship is indeed just a publicity stunt.

Kim fueled the gossip even further when she tweeted: “So excited to see all the fashion going on in New York tonight at the MET!“– leading many to believe that she was attending — or at least standing across the street watching as the stars rolled up in their limos.

But nothing could be further from the truth: Kim was actually thousands of miles away — in L.A. So why would she lie about seeing the stars in their beautiful fashions? The answer is simple: Kim is a narcissist who lies about everything.

Beyonce, Jay Z, Mary J Blige attend L.A. and Erica Reid’s book launch

Beyonce Knowles and her husband, rap mogul Jay Z, attended Erica Reid’s book launch event Tuesday in New York City. Reid is married to former Deele group member, and record exec, L.A. Reid, who also hosted the event. Attending the event were singer Mary J Blige, Erica and L.A.’s daughter; Beyonce’s mother Tina, and Jane Miller, among others. Erica Reid’s book is titled ‘The Thriving Child’ and the party was held at private residence.

It’s good to see Jay Z showing affection for Beyonce in public — especially now that rumors have surfaced about him staying away from home for prolonged periods of time. My sources tell me that Beyonce is adjusting very well to being a single new mother. They say her postpartum depression has lifted somewhat. That’s good to hear.

President Obama in Atlanta to attend three fundraisers targeting wealthy blacks

President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign will be in full swing when he touches down in Atlanta today. While here, the president will attend 3 ritzy high-ticket fundraisers targeting obscenely rich African Americans who can afford to pay a minimum of $2,500 per ticket.

Obama’s haul from black supporters is expected to total $5-$6 million dollars by the time Air Force One takes off from Fort McPherson later tonight.

From ABC News:

Seventy-five supporters will mingle with the president at an as yet undisclosed private Atlanta residence, where tickets were $10,000 apiece. Then he’ll join a star-studded concert featuring CeeLo Green at the Tyler Perry Studios, where at least 1,000 Obama fans are expected in the crowd, an official said. Each paid $500 or more.

Before returning to Washington, Obama will visit the home of actor and director Tyler Perry, who’s hosting the ritziest party of the night at $35,800 per head. At least 60 people are expected to attend to toast the president.
All proceeds from the six events benefit the Obama Victory Fund, a joint account that funnels cash to the Obama campaign and Democratic National Committee, the official said. The first $5,000 of an individual’s contribution goes to Obama while the remainder — up to $30,800 — goes to the DNC.

The president’s events raise to 40 his total attended for the year and 107 his total for the cycle. The first lady’s event is her 17th fundraiser of the year.

Zahara Jolie-Pitt shows off her blue hair extensions in New Orleans

Actress and philanthropist Angelina Jolie enjoyed a Sunday afternoon walk with 3 of her multicultural brood in New Orleans. Zahara wore blue weave extension braids in her hair. Angelina’s dependency on hair weave in favor of combing Zahara’s tight curls sparked controversy last year.

“If Angelina wants Zahara to be in touch with her roots and have her hair braided then she can do that with the child’s own hair and she doesn’t need to add extensions,” celebrity groomer DaRico Jackson told RadarOnline.com.
