Morning Wood: Joel (Bird’s Brother)

Today’s Morning Wood hunk is Joel, the brother of Bird, one of my longtime readers. According to Bird, her brother Joel is most recently known for his television and modeling work. In February, he debuted on VH1’s newest hit reality series, Let’s Talk About Pep, as the love interest of celebrity broadcast journalist Jacque Reid.
The show, which stars Sandy “Pepa” Denton of Salt-N-Pepa fame, holds a weekly audience of 2 million viewers and is currently one of VH1’s most popular programs. As a model, Joel was recently featured on the website of Essence magazine as the “Eye Candy of the Week” in a 10-photo spread.

Who’s That Girl?

A loyal reader emailed me these pics of rapper Ludacris and a chick that were taken in September at Dreamz nightclub here in Atlanta. The reader wondered if this was the same girl as the one with Luda in the pics I posted earlier this week.

It’s so hard to tell. Rapper are so unoriginal. They pick their chicks the same way they shop for cars: the model and body style has to be the same as what every other rapper drives. I’m just being real.
But if it isn’t her, then Luda has some explaining to do because home girl is kissin’ and huggin’ on him like she knows exactly what size condoms he wears.

I’m told the chick in the more recent pics is his “longtime girlfriend” — meaning they’ve been together longer than 6 months.
It looks like it could be her, but I’m not certain. What do you think?
Who knew they made lacefront wigs for babies?

Scroll down for update…
A loyal reader sent me these pics of her precious infant daughter wearing her first lacefront wig.
She writes: “It’s never too early for my baby to start looking glamorous like Beyonce!”

Awww, she’s a cutie. Normally I would frown on this sort of thing. But I try to keep an open mind and remember that hoodrats raise their children differently and I can’t knock their unconventional child rearing methods just because I don’t understand them.

Update:
A loyal reader sent in this poem in honor of the lacefront baby.
Dear Lord,
I’m saying this prayer to you today,
Please help me get away.
The parents you gave [me] were rejected by you,
I came out the womb with no clue.
You created me grand,
Tiny and precious and not in command.
These pictures will live in infamy,
A pretty baby made to look ugly.
My mommy and daddy are too stupid to know,
That my hair will eventually grow.
Dear Lord, Please help me leave.
My idiot parents gave me a weave.Composed by Tracy Mendoza
GUESS WHO?

Guess who wore this busy gold and silver glittery 2-piece skirt set to a recent fashion show in Philadelphia?
The answer is after the break!
Morning Glory: Dyzhire
Miss Sandra,
I read your blog often. I would like to know why celebrities choose to date other celebrities? I don’t understand why they won’t take the time out to meet a ’round the way girl such as myself. I work everyday; I have a degree, my own car and house, just like Ne-Yo said. They make these songs talking about us, but instead go get something already known to the industry. I’m not ugly by far either, but I guess I’m not at the right place at the right time. If you get a minute, you can check me out at two places:

Thanks,

Good Morning Sandra,
This is Rodney Foster, one of your loyal readers from DC. I am the guy who emailed you a while back with the picture of me and my 50″ Birkin Bag. I agree with you, Taraji Henson needs a new stylist. I am a stylist and I tried to make it happen over the Christmas Holiday when she was in DC visiting her family, but for some reason I never got the chance to meet her.
Your loyal reader,
Rodney Foster
Well let’s see if we can make that happen Rodney.
There’s no doubt that our girl Taraji is going to win the Oscar for her touching acting in Benjamin Buttons. We want her looking right when she sashays onstage to collect her statuette!

Loyal reader Natasha has a few choice words for my client Botchey of Botchey Entertainment for Photoshopping her picture into his promotional ad for tonight’s Investment Club party at Luckie’s!
If Natasha looks familiar to you, that’s because, besides seeing her on that flyer, she was also featured in BET’s Hell Date Season 2.
Sandra: FIRST, LOVES THE SITE!!! I’m emailing you cause I see my picture on an advertisement you had sent to you for this Wednesday’s event: Investment club Hawks vs Magic. Why I’d be lying to say I wasn’t tickled pink to see myself on the flyer that whomever snatched from my myspace or online and Photoshopped an Atlanta Hawks shirt on..
I gotta say they COULDA ASKED!! Truth be told I got my shine on as everyone who knows where to get the latest visits your site and numerous people hit me up for “landing an advertising” spot on your blog which I had to reply I had no dealing with creating– I had to get around to figuring out how to access you at work – so I’ve been a little late on the latest

What really irks me is that people will snatch a picture of you- throw you on a flyer and then have you stand in a line for 1 1/2 to get in to an event they “used” you for marketing purposes to get people to come to… Some people say you should be “grateful” they gave you some exposure, while others say sue them they didn’t have the right to plaster my pic (It’s not that serious and I definitely ain’t no one important to be doing all that) However it does bring me to the point of recognizes how the Atlanta industry market doesn’t pay!
They find all types of ways to exploit models or aspiring models (with or without their consent) using the “you should be lucky I’m acknowledging you” and not pay… I will not be attending the event tonight as I hear Luckies is crazy on Wednesday – I don’t do lines and I’m not that important to be able to skip or rich enough to pay someone extra!
Anyways loves the site… and as far as less negativity (forget that goal!) Life ain’t pretty and sometimes the truth is ugly – Keep reporting as you see it or at least how you’d like to (wink) it’s entertaining – And that’s what I come for!!! Best wishes in 09′
