Seal On Tavis Smiley: ‘we were shocked at separation’

British singer Seal is on a cross country promo tour for his new album of 70s Soul classics, Soul 2, which dropped today in the U.S. The album was originally released in November 2011 in Europe.

On Sunday, Seal, 48, and his supermodel wife, Heidi Klum, 38, announced their separation after 7 years of marriage and 4 kids together. Coincidence or publicity stunt for his new album?

Yesterday, Seal was a guest on the ‘Tavis Smiley Show’ on PBS (he also stopped by the Ellen Show). On both shows, Seal talked about his new album, but the questions inevitably turned to the split between he and his wife.

Seal told Tavis that the separation did not make recording his album difficult. “just because you decide to separate… you don’t stop loving each other. You don’t… stop being friends,” said Seal. He added: “What one has to do is remain civil to retain one’s dignity… It’s unfortunately a chapter of life.”

Watch the interview after the break.

In Case You Missed It: Love & Hip Hop, Ep 10, At the End of the Day (Finale)

Love & Hip Hop Finale aired last night on VH1. Due to the feds action against Megaupload, the file sharing services are running scared. So this is the only working link, but it is slow. You have to let the video load totally, and then rewind to play.

Anyway, the big question on everyone’s mind is why did Chrissy Lampkin, 40, advise Emily B to settle for her man cheating as long as she doesn’t know about it? The answer is: Chrissy is living in a thing called reality.

She knows that her man might be loyal to her and he loves her, but men are very easily tempted by cunning and crafty tricks and gold diggers.

Men are flawed from birth. A man’s egos is designed to be impressed by chicks who show interest in them. They wouldn’t be men if they didn’t respond to the attention from hot broads. I’m not sure why that’s so hard for you women to understand. You’re not being realistic if you don’t comprehend that men cheat.

Also in this episode, Olivia confronts DJ Funkmaster Flex, Emily is still desperate and clinging to Fabolous hoping they live happily ever after. Kimbella announces she’s pregnant. Can Kimbella take care of her two sons with the reality show paychecks she gets after boyfriend Juelz Santana is arrested? And messy Yandy is still a mess. Nothing will change on that end.

Please remember that these shows are partially scripted, meaning the plots and drama are strongly “suggested” by the show’s producers.

Aretha Franklin Calls Off Her Wedding to the Mister

Maybe Soul legend Aretha Franklin reads my blog because she called off the wedding to her fiance Willie Wilkerson, according to published reports. And not a moment too soon.

Everyone knows Miss ReRe is not the best judge of character when it comes to smooth talking brothas. Had Ms. Franklin gone ahead and walked down the aisle with Mr. Wilkerson, he would have been ex-husband #4 for sure.

TMZ: Heidi Klum to File for Divorce from Seal

Another Dopamine-fueled relationship bites the dust. Gossip website TMZ.com is reporting that the fairy tale wedding between singer Seal and supermodel Heidi Klum might be over.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … Heidi will file divorce papers in L.A. County Superior Court as early as next week. We’re told Heidi will cite “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for the divorce.

The couple married May 10, 2005. They have 3 biological kids. Seal adopted Heidi’s eldest girl from a prior relationship.

The couple is famous for renewing their vows every year on their anniversary … in a lavish ceremony.

As for splitting up the goodies, there’s a lot on the line. According to Forbes, in the last year alone, Klum raked in $20 million. It’s unclear how much Seal made.

Jesse Jackson is a deadbeat dad

Comedian Bill Cosby and Civil Rights leader Jesse Jackson have more secret children than Joe Jackson.

Jesse Jackson, who is no relation to Joe, admitted he fathered a daughter, Ashley, by a woman he carried on an affair with in 1999. The girl is now 12, and Jackson owes her mother, Karin Stanford, $11,694.50 in back child support, according to the ENQUIRER.

Stanford was a top aide with Jackson’s Rainbow PUSHCoalition until The ENQUIRER exposed the affair — and the love child — in 2001 (how many of you are thinking at least she’s black?)

After admitting paternity, Jackson paid the court ordered child support and visited Ashley (and Stanford) at their California home regularly over the past decade.

In Case You Missed It: T.I. and Tiny Family Hustle, Ep 7

Since the series premiere of VH1′s popular hit reality show T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle, each episode has centered around one of T.I.’s 6 children: Zonnique, Messiah, Domani, Deyjah, King and Harris.

Last night’s episode was 7-year-old King’s turn.

Tiny’s mother, Dianne Pope, aka “Mamaw”, pretty much raised King (and his 3-year-old brother Major) from birth — although the producers would have you believe that Dianne just took King in to help out Tiny after T.I. went to prison.

“Upon my return, King has not been able to wean himself off of Mamaw’s house,” Tip explains.

Tiny takes her mom to dinner to discuss the situation. During dinner, King, who is staying at Mamaw’s house, calls to see what’s keeping her. “Tell her to bring her butt home early. It’s 7 o’clock,” he says.

McDonald’s Thugs Plead Not Guilty

Remember the rowdy lesbian couple who attempted to assault a McDonald’s cashier but they caught a savage beat down instead? The NY Daily News reports that the two lovers pleaded not guilty to criminal trespassing for jumping the counter.

According to the NY Daily News, Denise Darbeau (above left) and Rachel Edwards (who looks like a cleaned up Trina), were already fighting mad — with each other — before they entered the West Village McDonald’s on Oct. 12, 2011.

The pair had gone drinking, then got into a wild fracas with McDonald’s employee Rayon McIntosh, an ex-con, who was caught on video beating the women after they entered an employees-only area.

According to unsealed court records, Edwards (the Trina look-a-like) is alleged to have said to Darbeau: “Why did this happen? Why don’t you love me the way I love you?”

Both women entered “not guilty” pleas in a Manhattan court on Wednesday. They were both offered probation in return for pleading guilty. But Darbeau and Edwards declined through their attorney. They face up to seven years in prison if found guilty.

Their lawyer, Harold Baker, said outside court his clients would not cop to a felony. Baker said his clients are the real victims.
