Hublot Atlanta Boutique opened its doors in upscale Phipps Plaza last month. On Friday the store held an event for Atlanta’s tastemakers to celebrate Ice Week. Hublot, which is owned by LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy Group), already has 5 boutiques around the United States. 3 more boutiques are planned as part of its expansion into the U.S. over the next 3 years.
The event was hosted by rap mogul Ludacris‘ manager and business partner Chaka Zulu (CEO, DTP Records and Ebony Son Entertainment). The event was also sponsored by Conjure Cognac. Ludacris stopped by to show his support.

Tameka “Tiny” Harris was honored last night at the ASCAP Awards held in Atlanta. She arrived in a grey Bentley (a gift from her husband Tip Harris), wearing a fitted black and white dress and Gucci mink trimmed sandals, according to celebrity blogger Tami Reed (Talkingwithtami). Tiny flew into town from Los Angeles just to attend the event. She was in LA with her group the OMG Girlz who are recording their album.
Congrats to Tiny!
Alexis Welch is one lucky woman. She stood by her man, NBA star A’mare Stoudemire, when he was out sowing his wild oats, and he rewarded her loyalty by asking her to be his wife. Most women would have bounced at the first sign of cheating (especially with a public figure like Ciara). But Welch (age unknown) realized that a man is going to be a man — and regardless of what he does in the streets, her role is to be a good mother to his children.
Stiletto Jill reports that Alexis attended Fall 2013 bridal shows with Stoudemire’s credit card looking for that perfect wedding gown to wear when she walks down the aisle with A’mare at their wedding next year. Some of the designers included Ines Di Santo, Reem AcraKenneth Pool, Christos and Rivini. Good for her!

On Sunday millions of people worldwide were captivated by the sight of a tiny, one-man capsule being carried aloft by a gigantic 55-story helium-filled balloon. Inside the cramped capsule, Austrian paratrooper Felix Baumgartner prepared to become the first man to break the speed of sound while free falling 24 miles to earth.
The capsule ascended into space at the rate of 1,000 feet per minute. It took roughly 2 hours and 20 minutes for the capsule to ascend 128,100 feet above earth, breaking the record for the highest non-aircraft altitude.
24 miles above the earth, Baumgartner, 43, stepped out onto the capsule’s small ledge and bunny hopped into space. He shattered the speed barrier even as he went into an uncontrolled spin, eventually reaching a top speed of 833 mph (Mach 1.24) about 30 seconds into his jump.
