Santa T.I.’s K.I.N.G. Foundation Christmas Giveaway

Last night, rapper T.I. (above left), his wife Tiny (far right) and his family gave back to the community at the Carrie Steele-Pitts Center in Atlanta. To kick the night off, the family acted out a play that was written by T.I.’s oldest son Messiah, 11. The whole family donned full troll costumes, and after the play T.I. changed into a Santa Clause outfit and passed out toys to the children.

The elaborate troll costumes were Messiah’s idea. He is pictured above with his beautiful mom, @LashonDixon, who is also mom to rapper Domani Harris, 10. All of the Harris children participated in the play! Gifts were handed out to the excited neighborhood children after the play. The gifts included toys, clothes, jackets, shoes, backpacks that were purchased by T.I., his K.I.N.G. Foundation and his record label Grand Hustle.

Rumor Control: Tiny’s Dad is Alive and Well

This morning I received an urgent call from former Xscape singer Tameka “Tiny” Harris’ mom, Dianne Pope, asking me to inform my readers that Tiny’s father, Charles Pope, is alive and well. Tiny’s fans were introduced to Mr. and Mrs. Pope on Tiny’s reality show, Tiny & Toya on BET in 2009.

It seems that some idiot created a fake Facebook page imitating Tiny and claiming her father was deceased. “Tiny wants people to know that her daddy is fine,” said Mrs. Pope. “That’s not her Facebook page at all.

As you know, Mr. Pope (pictured at right with Tiny’s daughter, Zonnique) was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. T.I. and Tiny founded the For The Love of Our Fathers Foundation, which raises money for Alzheimer’s research.

Mrs. Pope says her husband’s condition has improved and he’s getting stronger. “He’s more alert. We’re getting him up now doing exercises,” she said.

Mrs. Pope theorized that Tiny’s fans may have confused Tiny’s father with a member of his legendary R&B group The Tams, who was murdered by his roommate. Tiny’s father founded The Tams, and Tiny has performed with the group.

According to Channel 2 Action News, longtime Tams band director Versi Sain, 59, was found shot to death in his Clayton County home earlier this month. Police arrested his roommate, Sam Morgan, and charged him with murder. He is being held in the Clayton County jail. The two men were childhood friends who grew up together in Muskegon, Michigan. Sources say the motive may have been money.

The Tams, now headed by Tiny’s brother Red, are known for their 60s hits “Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy,” and “Hey Girl Don’t Bother Me.”

In Case You Missed It: T.I. & Tiny: Family Hustle, Ep 3

Episode 3 belonged to T.I.’s 7-year-old son, King, who has the sense enough to realize that he’s not black (he is a mix of both races). T.I. took the family out to dinner and had a chat with King who thinks he’s white because he’s light-skinned. A blond fan interrupts the conservation to give T.I. one of her CDs.

After she walks away, T.I. resumes the conversation. But King, who was taken by the fan’s alabaster skin, says quickly, “I know I’m black, but can I have a white woman?” T.I. laughed and responded “Yes, you can have a white woman. You can have any color woman you want!”

In Case You Missed It: T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle, Ep 2

Last night VH1 premiered the much anticipated reality series, T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle. The network aired 2 episodes back-to-back as T.I. held court at the Cinebistro in Brookhaven hosting a private screening for family and friends. In the 2nd episode, T.I. displayed his paternal love for his 6 children. A particularly touching scene occurred when T.I. was forced to choose between performing a sound check for BET’s Hip Hop Awards or attending his son Domani’s youth football game.

The responsible father in T.I. chose to attend Domani’s football game after speaking with his son via phone and hearing the disappointment in the boy’s voice. “Over the years I’ve grown to love my career. However, I love my family more,” said T.I.

Wendy Responds to Criticism That She Was Too Harsh On the Kang

Talk show Diva Wendy Williams came under fire from fans of “The Kang” T.I. after he appeared on her show Thursday with his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris to promote their new reality TV show, T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle.

During the interview, Wendy grilled T.I. on the touchy subjects of his past arrest on drug charges and his incarceration for violating his probation. A tense T.I. repeatedly interrupted Wendy’s line of questioning, telling her “Life has moved on.” (Watch the video here)

After the show, Wendy uploaded a video to her blog and facebook page giving her unique perspective on the tense verbal exchange between herself and T.I.

“What part of ‘you are an ex-con’ doesn’t he understand?,” she said. “I get middle America, he’s trying to change his image. He shoulda thought about that before they arrested them…for real. I like T.I. I like his wife, Tiny. But you can’t have it both ways, sir. You go on ‘The View’ and other shows and give it up but what is it? I’m too familiar with you so that you don’t want to give it up here?”

But the nervous tension flying between T.I. and Wendy on the set wasn’t the only topic of conservation on social networks and the blogs on Thursday.

Sisters in particular bristled when a self-confident T.I. gently told his wife to “pause” as she was about to answer one of Wendy’s probing questions.

T.I. hushed his wife because the question involved rapper 50 Cent — a man — and T.I. thought that he — a man — was better qualified to handle it. No real man would sit quietly while his wife spoke on another man’s drama.

It was one of those television moments that lent itself to ridicule and scorn from females on Twitter.com who long ago lost respect for Black men.
