T.I. Lavishes Gifts On Guests for Private Welcome Home Party
Remember we told you last week about rapper T.I.’s private Welcome Home party to be held after he’s released from a halfway house? Well, TMZ has the details on the intimate affair for exactly 150 guests on October 2nd. According to the gossip website, T.I.’s good friend Sean “Diddy” Combs is personally shipping in 150 bottles of Ciroc, one for each person in attendance. The whole bash will cost around $100K, with $20K just on food and additional $8K on dessert.
The big surprise of the night — reps from AKOO Clothing, T.I.’s clothing line, will measure the VIP guests for custom-made clothing gifts.
Of course, T.I. isn’t leaving out the blogs; one lucky Sandrarose.com reader will receive an invite to attend the Exclusive affair at an undisclosed location. T.I.’s artist Mitchelle’l, whose hawt single “Only A Few” has everyone buzzing, is set to perform for the lucky 150 guests. We usually don’t attend industry parties, but we might make an exception for this one!
Celebs Out & About: Sanaa Lathan, Eddie Murphy
Sanaa Lathan, 39, was among the celebrities attending the ‘Contagion’ premiere in New York City, NY last night. Sanaa has a small part in the blockbuster movie about a deadly virus that leads to a worldwide pandemic. The Atlanta screening of ‘Contagion’ was held this past Tuesday. Sanaa will be in Atlanta tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 9) conducting a round of interviews with local media and bloggers. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, ‘Contagion’ boasts a star-studded cast that includes Oscar winners Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Marion Cotillard, as well as Oscar nominees Laurence Fishburne, who plays the CDC doctor assigned to stop the pandemic; and Jude Law as a blogger who posts inaccurate information on his blog.

Comedy legend Eddie Murphy was spotted wearing all white as he attended comedian Kevin Hart’s Black Carpet Event in Los Angeles last night. Murphy’s stock shot up when it was announced that he would host the 2011 Oscar Awards. He beat out fellow comedians Billy Crystal and Jerry Seinfeld for the coveted gig.

Oprah has ‘mixed feelings’ about Carson Kressley on ‘DWTS’
OWN Network founder Oprah Winfrey has “mixed feelings” about one of her hosts appearing on ABC’s ‘Dancing With The Stars’ this season, which begins next week.
According to the Huffington Post, Oprah is uncomfortable with Your OWN Show host Carson Kressley appearing on the dance show, because she is uncomfortable with reality TV shows in general.
“A few years ago, when she was doing her own show, she didn’t care for it at all,” a source told HuffPo.
“Manipulating people who are so desperate to be famous and making then look foolish on TV is just not something she is comfortable doing.”
But isn’t that what Oprah did on her own show? Didn’t she manipulate people who were desperate to be famous? Isn’t she desperate to remain relevant after ending the 25-year run of her wildly successful show on the advice of a dying kid?
Kressley, who gained fame as host of TV’s “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” will compete next week against notables such as NBA star Ron Artest, former talk show host Ricki Lake and transgender Chaz Bono.
Eddie Murphy Confirmed to Host the Oscars

The rumors are confirmed: 50-year-old comedian/actor Eddie Murphy will host the 84th Annual Academy Awards this Fall. Good for him.
“I am enormously honored to join the great list of past Academy Award hosts from Hope and Carson to Crystal, Martin and Goldberg, among others,” Murphy said in a press release.
“Rush Hour” director Brett Ratner, who is producing the ceremony, recently directed Murphy in the upcoming movie “Tower Heist,” and Murphy was reportedly Ratner’s top choice to host the show.
“Eddie is a comedic genius, one of the greatest and most influential live performers ever,” Ratner said in a press release. “With his love of movies, history of crafting unforgettable characters and his iconic performances — especially on stage — I know he will bring excitement, spontaneity and tremendous heart to the show.”
Psychiatrist: Don’t let your kids watch the bearded lady on ‘DWTS’

ABC caused a storm of controversy when the network announced its controversial decision to add a transgender male (Chaz Bono) to the cast of “Dancing With The Stars”. But now the deluge of emails and phone calls pouring into ABC’s offices have turned downright scary, according to an unidentified source.
“Of course, they knew there would be some anti-Bono calls and emails,” said a longtime “DWTS” insider. “But this has been more vicious and in larger volume than was anticipated. … Some of the comments are downright scary,” the source told the Sun Times.
As if it wasn’t difficult enough for ABC to navigate the waters of discord and animosity, a psychologist has come forward to urge parents not to allow their kids to watch the show.
Calling Bono’s appearance on the show “toxic,” Dr. Keith Ablow, a FOX contributing blogger, wrote “I advise parents to not allow their children to watch the episodes in which Chaz appears.”
Dr. Ablow, a licensed psychiatrist, compared Bono’s gender dysmorphia to that of mentally ill patients who suffer from limb dysmorphic disorder — the amputation of healthy limbs.
People who suffer from limb dysmorphic disorder believe their lives will improve dramatically if they can only amputate one or more of their hands or limbs. The limb is usually removed at the end of a butcher’s knife when the patient can’t find a sympathetic doctor to perform the operation.
