Newark Mayor Cory Booker sort of comes out of the closet

Newark Mayor Cory Booker is an anomaly; at 43, he holds a prestigious job, makes a ton of money, but he is chronically single.

In 2012, a handsome man who is still single after the age of 40 is almost unheard of.

Mr. Booker has been the subject of rampant ghey rumors for years now. In a new interview by Obie Brook for EBONY magazine, Mayor Booker adds fuel to the rumors by balking at the mere mention of dating ladies.

EBONY: Forgive me, I have to ask this question because too many ladies out there would kill me if I didn’t: are you hoping to settle down and start a family in the near future?

CORY BOOKER: [Laughs] What “ladies”? Did my mother put you up to this? [Laughs] I just I think everybody wants to have that settled life and even God wants us to “have life and have it more abundantly.” Everybody wants to find their soul mate and I’m no different. That’s definitely what I want in the future.

Booker goes on to say he is looking for a “soul mate” to settle down with — not necessarily a female.

EBONY: Last year you mentioned being too busy to date. Have you found
that soul mate yet or are you still looking?

CORY BOOKER: Still looking for that soul mate.

FBI May Charge Zimmerman With Hate Crime, Could Face Death Penalty

The FBI may have enough evidence to charge Trayvon Martin’s killer with a hate crime. George Zimmerman was arrested in April and charged with 2nd degree murder in the February shooting death of the 17-year-old Miami high school student.

Zimmerman, 28, told police he shot the unarmed teen in self defense following a brief altercation. According to WFTV, the FBI is actively questioning residents of the Retreat of Twin Lakes community, and they could charge Zimmerman with a hate crime even if he is acquitted of killing Trayvon Martin.

He could face the death penalty if found guilty of a hate crime.

Ne-Yo: ‘I did not steal from The Game’

The posh Fontainebleau hotel and resort on Miami Beach was the setting for the BLEAULIVE concert series hosted by Ne-Yo and Malibu Red Saturday afternoon. The Grammy award winning singer songwritter was backed up by a live band and performed some of his oldies but goodies, and even some new hits. Ne-Yo wore red jeggings and a Miami Heat hat, letting his fans know who he’s pulling for in the NBA playoffs.

Speaking of red, according to TMZ.com, Ne-Yo says he didn’t steal the title of his upcoming album R.E.D. from The Game, who released his R.E.D. album last year. “I don’t feel like I ripped off The Game’s album,” Ne-Yo told TMZ at LAX, insisting he carefully selected the name of his album (which stands for Realizing Every Dream).

The Game recently told XXLMag.com he doesn’t hold a grudge with Ne-Yo over the album title, saying, “I’ve always known Ne-Yo to be a cool dude, so I’m pretty sure he got his reasoning.”

He also admitted, “Not much of a sex tape lol.”

Well, maybe not to him. But I’m sure the tape is worth its weight in gold to his female (and male) fans!

Black Pastors say President Obama’s stance on gay marriage will cost him the election

President Barack Obama is typical of most narcissists who say what they think their audience wants to hear. If there is any backlash, they usually resort to a well-rehearsed list of excuses or defenses.

This is what happened when Obama decided to buck 6,000 years of tradition and reinterpreted the Bible to serve his own political purposes.

When Obama voiced his personal opinion on same-sex marriages, he didn’t consider the 95% of black voters who contributed to his historic election in 2008 — more than half of whom are opposed to same-sex marriage.

In each of the 30 states where gay marriage is banned, black voters were contributing factors.

Black voters make up between 15% and 30% of the voting pool in key states. But Obama didn’t care about the black vote in 2008, so he certainly isn’t concerned with the black vote now.

What does concern the president and his advisers are the evangelical churches whose denominations are mostly conservative. That is why, in the hours after his historic announcement on May 9, one of the first people Obama reached out to was the Rev. Joel C. Hunter, the pastor of a large conservative megachurch in Florida (pictured above).
