Bit actress and sometime model Kim Porter, 43, was spotted out & about in Beverly Hills yesterday. Kim was seen shopping for high end sunglasses. She listened to music on her iPod while she tried on expensive frames. As you know, her famous baby daddy's are music mogul Sean Combs and 80's R&B crooner-turned-radio jock Al B Sure. Between them she has 4 children.
Later, Kim was spotted waiting for the elevator outside a dentist's office in Beverly Hills. She told the paparazzi that she'd just had a root canal, yet she was sipping on a large soda. The pap advised Kim that the cold soda only makes the pain worse, to which Kim replied that she needed the soda to calm her nerves. Kim eventually got tired of waiting for the elevator and opted for the stairs. At age 43, she still looks like a teenager.
Singer Toni Braxton joined her mom and siblings to promote Toni's new reality show titled 'Braxton Family Values' during the 'Braxton Family Values' panel at the WE tv portion of the 2011 Winter TCA press tour held at the Langham Hotel held yesterday in Pasadena, California.
Singer Keri Hilson joked that she didn't have much to live for until she met her idol, Lauryn Hill, backstage at Hill’s concert at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City.
The 28-year-old songwriter posted the above pic on her Twitter page and tweeted:
“No one understands…I will never be the same. Utmost respect 4 Lauryn Hill. So beautiful. Very down to earth. Anyone who knows me knows she’s a huge inspiration to me…I told her 2nite. Said she loves Pretty Girl Rock (SCREAAAM) & her daughter loves me! Said my music embodies a certain confidence women need. I’m so inspired. I woke up thinkin, "Now...how can I meet Michael Jackson?" Then I thought about it...guess I can wait."
In a pitiful public outburst designed to garner attention and sympathy, singer Jazmine Sullivan abruptly "announced" her departure from the music business last night on Twitter.com -- only to take back her announcement a mere 20 minutes later.
With tweets about Ciara and Keri Hilson (not to mention Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj) dominating our timelines, it's no wonder that other narcissistic celebrities feel a little left out.
Sullivan, who is often confused for singer Chrisette Michele, probably noted that her new album wasn't moving units and her Twitter timeline was too quiet.
"i'm making an official announcement that i am taking a break from music. i'm trying to figure out who i am... w/out a mike, paper or pen. i promised myself when it wasn't fun anymore i wouldn't do it. and here i am."
But it was her next tweet to her thousands of Twitter followers that was most telling:
"i love u all and appreciate u soooooo much," she added. "...u have no idea how much u've inspired me and fed my ego."
At least she's honest about Twitter feeding her ego. Other narcissistic celebrities would never admit that much.
These days, attention-hungry celebrities such as Sullivan are bypassing their publicists to feed their crushing egos by creating their own instant rumors on social networks.
The result is posts like this one, with her name in the headline, which never would have been written had she not taken matters into her own hands.
Sullivan's sophomore album Love Me Back quietly debuted at #17 on the Billboard chart in November, selling a disappointing 57,000 copies in the first week. The disc sold roughly 8,000 units less than her debut CD, Fearless, which dropped in 2008. Fearless spawned Sullivan's top-ten hits "Bust Your Windows" and "Lions, Tigers & Bears".
She's tried every other man that crosses her path (including yours), but now TLC's Chilli has lowered her standards a bit.
In the 2nd season of her fake dating show, What Chilli Wants, Chilli will put another round of star-crossed men through their paces to see which one has what it takes to win her heart.
The show is purely for entertainment purposes. But in real life, Chilli tells Popeater that she wants a religious man with a high sperm count.
After an unsuccessful attempt to find her dream man, TLC singer Chilli is back for a second season of her hit VH1 reality show, 'What Chilli Wants.' But this time around, she's ditching the blind dates, noting she keeps her 13-year-old son Tron in her mind as she searches for Mr. Right.
"I can't imagine bringing someone around my son who is not an extraordinary man. He already has an active father [ex-husband Dallas Austin], so whoever is going to be my husband has to be a good figure for my son and add to our family," she tells PopEater.
But with her biological clock ticking, Chilli admits she's hoping to find a man soon because she wants more children. "I'm straight up and told all the guys this season I wanted kids. It probably made some of them nervous, but it shouldn't. I just need to know if we're on the same page or not because I want more kids," she adds.
Last night, BET and Centric TV (formerly BET Jazz) aired the Soul Train Awards featuring moving tributes to R&B legends Anita Baker and Ron Isley. The most moving performance (in my opinion) was by the very talented singer Tamia.
After watching Tamia's stirring performance of Baker's "Giving You The Best That I've Got," many wondered why she hasn't put out a new album.
It turns out the 35-year-old Grammy winner's promising career was cut short when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a debilitating disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. Tamia, who is best known for her hits "You Put a Move On My Heart" and "Stranger in My House", is one of the truly great singers of our time.
Tamia's debut album, More, is considered a classic among her devoted fans. The CD received favorable reviews when it dropped in 1998, but it was largely slept on by the black community.
One of the singles, "So Into You," was sampled by rapper Fabolous for his single "Into You". The single peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2003.
This video also includes Faith Evans' cracked out rendition of Baker's classic hit "No One In The World". It was a horrible performance by today's standards -- and that's putting it mildly.
It's hard to believe BET's 106 & Park has only been on the air for 10 years. Tonight, the show's original hosts will join the current hosts for an emotional 2-hour reunion show to celebrate BET's 106 & Park 10 Years and Counting live from Los Angeles.

Rapper-turned-Pastor Mason Betha, aka Ma$e, is still preaching from the pulpit despite reports of him returning to the sinful temptations of Hip Hop. Amen?
Ma$e's website is still online and still requesting donations for his church which boasts a congregation of 40,000. Amen? Ma$e says God is able to use him to do something big -- we don't think he means winning a Grammy.
Ma$e still has a speech impediment that makes it difficult for him to pronounce such big words as "receptacle", but it doesn't matter because Pastor Ma$e is on a mission to save souls. Amen?
Remember Bad Boy Records Boy Band B5 from back in the day? According to Fresh, this is what they look like now. I refuse to believe it! I'm going to guess they were playing dress up in B. Scott's closet.
