‘American Idol’ judge Nicki Minaj posed on the red carpet before Fox’s “American Idol 2013″ Finale Results Show at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Thursday, May 16, in Los Angeles, California. Minaj, Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson will not return as judges next season. This season saw the lowest TV ratings in ‘American Idol’ history.

Yes, this story is important to some people.
Revamped rapper Nicki Minaj arrived exactly 13 minutes late to the live taping of American Idol Wednesday, saying she was stuck in traffic. That’s understandable in Los Angeles where the traffic ranks as the worst in the nation.
But it is not understandable if you’re a celebrity who gets paid millions to judge a music competition.
Rapper Nicki Minaj was flying sky high around this time last year. Her fans couldn’t get enough of her quirky personality, and music consumers couldn’t get enough of her catchy music.
But that was before she abandoned her fan base in hopes of being pop music’s queen for a day.
Sadly, Minaj’s third studio album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up, won’t even generate a quarter of the sales of her 2nd studio effort, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, which dropped on April 2.
In fact, ‘Re-Up’, which dropped on Nov. 19, is set to sell a meager 20,000 copies in its first week.
That number would make any artist flipping mad. But instead of blaming herself for her problems, Minaj is lashing out at everyone from retailers to former American Idol judge Steven Tyler.
This is the biggest story on the Internets today (I have no clue why). Apparently, the top brass at American Idol have talked Victoria “Posh” Beckham into replacing ousted judge Paula Abdul. As you know, Paula walked out after her request for an additional $2 mil on top of the $8 mil she’s already receiving per year was denied.
According to TMZ.com, Paula is now making noises like she wants to return to American Idol. It seems her decision to leave may have been part of a publicity stunt to get AI to cave in to her demands. But now that Posh has replaced her, AI will likely tell Paula her position is already filled!

According to TMZ.com, the reason Paula Abdul left American Idol is because she wanted more than the $3 million a year she was already pulling down!
I still can’t believe they paid that heiffer $3 million to sit at a table and look stupid! No wonder RHOA’s Kandi Burrus has started a campaign blitz to throw her name into the ring as the new judge. I’m sure AI isn’t even thinking about Kandi, but her PR still sent out a press release as if AI has already come knocking on Kandi’s door!
If you read between the lines in the press release, it’s obvious that Kandi is dying to get that gig but AI isn’t answering her calls. Unfortunately for Kandi, AI already has their one token black judge.
From a press release:
Rumors are starting to fly fresh off the press this morning that one of the stars of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, the Grammy Award Winning Singer/Songwriter, Kandi Burruss, may be a name in contention for a spot as a the new judge on the popular show which premieres in January.
Though no word has been confirmed as to if the producers will continue with a judging panel of three or add Burruss, it sure would make a very even pairing for television. “
Here’s that Rolling Stone issue with Adam Lambert on the cover that I told you about in an earlier post. This issue features Lambert’s big coming out interview. *YAWN* Why am I yawning so much today?
Anyway, here’s what Lambert had to say about American Idol‘s worst kept secret:
“I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I’m gay,” Lambert says in the new issue of Rolling Stone, hitting newsstands this week. “I’m proud of my sexuality,” Lambert adds. “I embrace it. It’s just another part of me. I loved it this season when girls went crazy for me. As far as I’m concerned, it’s all hot. Just because I’m not sticking it in there doesn’t mean that I don’t find it beautiful.”
Lambert went on to say that he was tempted to reveal his homosexuality during Idol, but he wanted to wait until this issue came out, lol:
“Clay Aiken’s gay, and I’m gay, and we couldn’t be more different. The only thing that is the same about everyone in the gay community is that we’re gay. … Why can’t we talk about a human community?”
I mean, who isn’t gay in Hollywood?
Earlier I told you that American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino‘s brother would appear on the same show that made his sister a household name. But hold on, who knew Ricco Barrino was signed to Grand Hustle to write hits for T.I.‘s roster of talent including Young Dro and Alfamega.
We’ve all heard rumors that artists were jumping ship from Grand Hustle now that the King of the South was on house arrest and facing serious time. But it looks like T.I.’s label isn’t going under after all. Ricco already had a regional hit with his ladies anthem “Bubble Gum”. Barrino alongside Grand Hustle producer Keith Mack, has a few more hits up their sleeves for Grand Hustle.
Which begs the question: isn’t American Idol supposed to be all about finding unsigned talent?
