ABC officials have confirmed a third Black-ish spin-off - Old-ish - is in the works.

Bosses at the television network are working with Black-ish creator Kenya Barris on the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Old-ish is set to follow Black-ish stars Laurence Fishburne and Jenifer Lewis as they reprise their roles as Earl "Pops" Johnson and Ruby Johnson.

Jenifer, 63, and Laurence, 59, play the parents of Anthony Anderson's character Dre on Black-ish. Tracee Ellis Ross plays Dre's wife, Rainbow.

Lewis will serve as executive producer of the show.

According to a script teaser, Old-ish "will follow Ruby and Earl as they give love a second chance. When they move to a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood of L.A., they'll meet characters who represent the old and new faces of the community as they try to make it work as a married couple. Again."

Laurence has been a recurring character on the show from the beginning, while Jenifer was promoted from a recurring role to series regular in season 2.

Old-ish will be the fourth installment in the franchise - Black-ish premiered in 2014 on ABC, Grown-ish premiered in 2018 on Freeform, and Mixed-ish premiered in 2019 on ABC.

Barris filed for divorce from his wife, Dr. Rania "Rainbow" Barris, citing irreconcilable differences after 20 years of marriage and six children.

Barris serves as executive producer on Black-ish, as well as it's spinoff show, Grown-ish.

Court records show that Barris filed to have his divorce filing dismissed on May 15.

Rumor has it that Barris cheated on his wife with Black-ish cast member Tracee, 47, whom Barris ironically cast as his wife, Rainbow, on the show.

The second eldest daughter of Motown legend Diana Ross has a history of failed relationships with emotionally unavailable men over the years.

According to blogger B. Scott:

Multiple sources told the entertainment website LoveBScott in late January that Ross and Barris are dating. The exact timeline of their rumored romance is unclear. But the outlet notes that Barris filed for divorce from his wife, Dr. Raina “Rainbow” Barris, back in August 2019. They were married for 20 years and share six children.

Tracee Ellis Ross

The Hollywood Reporter claimed on Friday, that the 45-year-old actress was earning considerably less than her 47-year-old male co-star and she planned to cut back her appearances on the hit ABC sitcom if her salary wasn't commensurate with Anderson's.

Ellis Ross is battling ABC network bosses for equal pay despite the fact that Anderson holds dual roles as actor and executive producer on Black-ish.

Ellis Ross says earning the same pay as Anderson is fair because it symbolizes equality in Hollywood.
