YouTuber Tré Melvin suffered a brain injury in a hit-and-run car crash that killed his best friend, Katherya, early Monday.

A statement posted on Melvin's Twitter account announced that they both suffered brain injuries, Katherya was unresponsive and she later died.

Melvin updated his followers on his medical condition: "to those asking, i'm (physically) okay. i was knocked unconscious on impact and my brain bled fairly heavily but the bleeding stabilized this morning. my neck + my back want me dead, but that's what meds are for. i'm alive and i’m grateful."

Melvin asked for donations to pay his best friend's funeral costs.

In a follow-up tweet, he wrote: "to whoever hit us, and ran: kathy is now an ancestor. she will lead us to you."

The news comes a month after YouTube demonetized Melvin's videos when he appeared to support looting and rioting following the death of George Floyd in Minnesota.

"i will no longer allow the platform to censor my pain," he tweeted. "i will no longer allow the platform to demonetize my pain. i will no longer sit at a table both my blackness and my queerness have never truly been welcome at. i will build my own."

An attorney from Milwaukee who was reported missing after a night out in Atlanta died from injuries he sustained in a car crash in Clayton County.

Demetrice Allen was last seen on Dec. 6 when he stopped by TEN ATL, a bar in East Atlanta Village, to drink with friends.

Allen's best friend said Allen's next stop was The Graveyard Tavern on Glenwood Avenue. By 2 a.m., the group noticed Allen was gone.

In response to a text message from LaShauna Wint, Allen said he was heading to The Cookout restaurant on Moreland Avenue for a burger before going home.

Clayton County police were called to a multi-car accident with injuries in the area of Interstate 285 and Old Dixie highway.

Allen's 2015 BMW 328i was among the vehicles involved in the accident. He was determined to be the at-fault driver.

The 30-year-old employment attorney was described as "alert, conscious and combative" with police.

His injuries were not considered life-threatening, but his condition prevented police from identifying him at the accident scene.

Police following up with the hospital where Allen was taken learned he succumbed to his injuries. Hospital staff called the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, who took custody of his body for an autopsy in the GBI crime lab.

Allen's godmother, Daphne Handley, with whom he was staying, reported him missing on Dec. 8.

It wasn't until days later that police realized the deceased man was the attorney reported missing in local and national headlines.

Allen was in Atlanta to interview for a job in the legal department at Delta Airlines, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

"He's overcome so many obstacles in life," said Wint before Allen was identified.

Wint said Allen lost his single mother about 10 years ago.

"He still pushed through and he finished college, top grades, got into the top law school," Wint told Fox6 Now. "He's just a fighter."

South Fulton Police announced Allen's death on Friday, Dec. 13. There was no explanation why authorities failed to contact his next-of-kin after he died.

You want to hear something hilarious? People thought promiscuous rapper Future and Atlanta socialite Lori Harvey were dating.

How do these rumors get started? First of all, everyone knows Future is an emotionally unavailable man who can't stay faithful to one woman.

People are speculating that Lori and Future are an item because they both posted Instagram stories from what seemed to be the same exotic vacation spot.

Both of their videos showed ocean views from a deck with a similar looking banister.

After a bit of investigating by Hotnewhiphop.com, it turned out that Lori wasn't on vacation at all. She was at Nobu restaurant, which is in Malibu, CA.

And rapper Future just happened to be dining there also.

Hours later, the 22-year-old socialite rolled her Jeep Wrangler after hitting another vehicle in Beverly Hills on Sunday night.

She was cited for a hit and run and delaying reporting the accident to police.

Lori is best known for trolling the blogs, tabloids and paparazzi by pretending to date rap mogul Sean "Puffy" Combs, 50.

Promiscuous rapper Future, who fathered 5 or 6 children with multiple women, is best known for impregnating pop singer Ciara Wilson.

Lori is the Atlanta socialite daughter of stylist Marjorie Harvey, 55, who is married to television mogul Steve Harvey, 62.

Since the accident occurred in Beverly Hills, the privileged 22-year-old was issued a court appearance ticket and released without having to pay bond.

Kevin Hart's publicist clarified reports that the fallen comedian returned to work after breaking his back in a car crash last month.

Hart reportedly returned to work after his near fatal car crash in which he sustained three back fractures and underwent surgery to fuse his spine on Sept. 2.

The 40-year-old Cancer met with his Jumanji co-stars, including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Jack Black and Nick Jonas, to shoot a promo for the Jumanji sequel.

The three actors revised their busy schedules to accommodate Hart.

According to Hart's official statement, he has "not been in full costume for these shoots and he's not walking much for them either - sitting through most of the day - even though he can walk on his own."

A source says Hart arrived for the shoot in a wheelchair.

The statement goes on to say he does not anticipate returning to work full-time until early next year if his health permits.

As for the other two people injured in the car wreck - Jared Black and his fiancee Rebecca Broxterman - they filed a lawsuit against the pint-sized actor for failure to provide safety equipment in his vintage 1970 Plymouth Barracuda.

Hart expresses, "nothing but love for Jared and wish him and Rebecca a speedy recovery," according to the statement.

Two people injured in Kevin Hart's vintage car the night it crashed have lawyered up and plan to sue the comedian and the body shop that customized his muscle car.

Hart was a passenger in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda driven by his friend Jared Black who lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road just after midnight on Sept. 1.

Both Hart and Black suffered serious back injuries in the crash, but Black's fiancee and Hart's personal trainer Rebecca Broxterman, who was sitting in the back seat, was not seriously hurt.

According to TMZ, Black and Broxterman have lawyered up and plan to sue Hart and the body shop that modified his car.

Broxterman and Black say Hart is negligent for failing to install standard safety features in the 720 horsepower car.

Hart reportedly didn't want safety features such as air bags because he wanted to maintain the car's 1970 authenticity. Airbags weren't standard equipment in all cars until the 1990s.

Broxterman and Black also plan to sue the bodyshop for going ahead with the job despite the car having no safety features.

Hart returned home after spending a week at a rehab facility. He underwent surgery to fuse his spine. He will receive physical therapy at home.

Kevin Hart is on a long road to recovery after injuring his spine in a serious single car crash in Calabasas, California.

A surgeon fused the 40-year-old comedian's back after his spine was fractured in three places, and now Hart will be transferred to a rehabilitation facility where he will remain for 4 months.

Hart's camp originally said he did not injure his spinal cord, but sources say Hart did suffer an injury to his spinal cord that affects his mobility from the waist down.

Hart's family, including his wife Eniko and children will take active part in his physical therapy.

A source tells The Blast Hart needs at least 4 months of physical therapy before he will be able to walk onto a movie set.

Sources close to the situation tell The Blast Hart needs intensive physical therapy at a rehab facility where he can be monitored closely.

The Jumanji star is reportedly in extreme pain and is still dependent on potent painkillers.

According to The Blast, as soon as doctors and physical therapists determine Hart is stable enough to do the physical therapy in an outpatient environment, he will be released from the rehab facility.

Hart routinely updated his social media with photos and videos that showed him working out or running in marathons.

"It helps that he was physically in such great shape," one source told The Blast.

Kevin Hart underwent surgery to stabilize three fractures in his back following a serious car crash near his home in Calabasas, Calif. on Sunday.

A surgeon fused three fractures in his spine - two in the upper back and one lower back fracture.

The 40-year-old comedian is said to be heavily medicated and in excruciating pain.

A spinal fracture in three places may mean the patient will have good range of motion in his hands and arms but he will have trouble walking - if not paralyzed from the waist down.

But his doctors say he is expected to make a full recovery, as he didn't suffer a spinal cord injury.

Still, the father-of-three will need physical therapy to help him walk after back surgery.

Hart and two friends were injured when his vintage 1970 Plymouth Barracuda veered off the road, flipped and landed on its roof in a ditch near Mulholland Drive just after midnight on Sunday.

Hart was able to escape the wreckage, but his wife's personal trainer and her husband - who was driving - were trapped inside. First responders used the jaws of life to cut them out of the mangled vehicle.

A passerby spotted the overturned vehicle, observed two people trapped inside, and called 911. "The roof is crushed and the car is pretty totaled," he said.

The witness told police a black SUV arrived at the scene and a man removed Hart through the shattered driver's side window.

Oddly, Hart and his security left the scene of the crash without calling 911 to help his friends.

Hart was at home when an unknown female called 911 approximately 2 hours after the crash.

The woman made the call from inside Hart's home around 2 a.m.

In an unemotional tone she told a dispatcher Hart was "not coherent at all" and he "can't move."

That description was in contrast to information given to the news media by Hart's camp who claimed he was fine, talking and walking around after the crash.

Rumors swirled around the industry that Hart was in much worse condition than his camp was letting on.

Hart's wife Eniko was spotted outside the hospital the next day. She told Splash News that he was awake and talking and he was "going to be just fine."

Hart who is usually very active on social media has not posted an update in 4 days.

Kevin Hart's condition is much worse than his camp revealed in the hours after he was involved in a serious car crash.

A witness told police the diminutive comedian was the first to climb out of the mangled 1970 Plymouth Barracuda that veered off the road and crashed on Sunday night.

A witness called 911 to report people stuck in the wreckage. First responders used the jaws of life to cut them out of the vehicle. But Hart was gone by the time first responders arrived just before 1 a.m. West Coast time.

Later, an unidentified female called 911 from inside Hart's home to say the comedian was "not coherent and can't move." She said something was protruding from his spine.

The 911 call conflicts with earlier reports that Hart was fine, talking and walking around after the crash.

Hart underwent an operation to stabilize his back on Sunday.

Kevin Hart underwent successful surgery to stabilize his back hours after he was in a serious car crash near his home in Calabasas, California.

Hart, 40, sustained a "major back injury" in the single car crash around 1 a.m. Sunday. He was riding in his vintage 1970 Plymouth Barracuda muscle car when his friend, who was driving, lost control of the high performance vehicle and it left the road on Mulholland Drive in Calabasas.

The car, which is a pricey collector's item, landed on the roof and rolled over. The driver suffered back injuries and was transported to a hospital. Hart's personal trainer, Rebecca Broxterman, was also in the car, but she was not injured.

Broxterman, 31, a popular Instagram fitness trainer, is said to be the fiancee of the driver.

Hart was the first one to climb out of the mangled vehicle after the crash, according to a witness. He reportedly called a member of his security team who arrived in a SUV to pick him up and take him home. He was later transported to a hospital.

Sources tell The Blast the comedian underwent successful surgery to "stabilize his back" late Sunday night, and he is expected to recover fully.

The source said "the surgery went smoothly, and he is doing ok. The surgery was a complete success. The doctors completed a procedure to stabilize his back."

Hart's wife, Eniko, has been by his side at the hospital and she is talking to doctors about his care.

Rumors are running rampant that Hart's injury is much more serious than his camp is letting on.

But a source tells The Blast the "Jumanji" actor did not injure his spinal cord, and that the comedian was able to "walk and move his extremities."

Kevin Hart is hospitalized in Los Angeles after suffering a "major" back injury when a car he was riding in lost control and crashed in a ravine on Mulholland Drive near his home in Calabasas, Calif.

The accident happened around 1 a.m. Sunday morning. Hart, 40, was riding in his vintage blue 1970 Plymouth Baraccuda with his wife's personal trainer, Rebecca Broxterman, 31, and a driver when the horrific car crash occurred.

Witnesses say Hart was the first one to climb out of the mangled vehicle, which landed upside down in a ditch. Hart called his security team who arrived in a SUV to pick him up. He was taken home then transported to a hospital.

Paparazzi photos show the muscle car's roof was crushed in the rollover crash. The driver was trapped in the car. He was transported to a hospital with back injuries. Broxterman (pictured below) was uninjured. Broxterman is a popular Instagram trainer who is credited with getting the Harts into shape.

Friends tell The Blast the actor and comedian suffered a major back injury and doctors are trying to determine whether he will need surgery. The injury does not involve his spinal cord, according to The Blast. Hart was able to walk and move his limbs.

Doctors say the comedian is expected to make a full recovery.
