Gabrielle Union shared a normal photo of her stepson Zion Wade, 12, on her social media account over the weekend.
Union, 47, posted a series of photos that show her, Zion, and her toddler daughter, Kaavia, posing next to a backyard tree decorated in Christmas lights. She captioned the images, "Family Time Is The Best Time."
In the Christmas photos, Zion appears to be a normal 12-year-old boy. The new images are in contrast to the provocative Thanksgiving photo she shared on Instagram.com that showed Zion wearing a crop top, leggings and acrylic nail tips.
His appearance, which was clearly inappropriate for a minor child, sparked a massive backlash against Union and her husband, retired NBA star Dwyane Wade, on social media.
Many called Wade an unfit father. Critics said the issue was not Zion's assumed sexual identity. They accused Wade and Union of exploiting an emotionally troubled child for their own selfish benefits.
The criticism must have struck a nerve with Wade because the 37-year-old sports analyst hit back, telling concerned social media users to kindly mind their own business.
Union posted the controversial photo after she was fired from NBC's America's Got Talent. She later accused the show's founder, Simon Cowell, of sexism, and she accused guest judge Jay Leno of racism.
After a 5-hour meeting with NBC and lawyers representing Cowell's Syco last week, Union deemed the meeting "productive".
She allegedly said Cowell's staff claimed her hair and clothes were "too black" for the show's audience.

A Texas family has been ordered to take down their festive Christmas display after neighbors complained it's too early.
The San Antonio police have a lot more to worry about than Christmas decorations, but the homeowners association for Nick Simonis's neighborhood threatened to call the cops when he refused their demands to take the display down.
The Simonis family received notice from the Diamond Association Management & Consulting on Nov. 4, three days after they put up their holiday decorations.
The homeowners association said the elaborate Christmas decorations — including a life-size inflatable snowman - must come down because it's too early for holiday decorations.
Claudia Simonis, who is eight months pregnant, said they put the decorations up now because, after she gives birth, she will be too busy to help put up the decorations later.
"Because probably in two more weeks, I'm not going to be able to build all this," she told WOAI News.
The display includes reindeer and a Santa Claus holding on to a helicopter. But the HOA complaint only mentioned the snowman. The family told WOIA that they refuse to remove their decorations.
"We're not going to do it," said Claudia's husband, Nick. "It's the Christmas spirit. We're not going to be forced by the HOA to take it down."
FYI: Images in this post don't reflect the Simonis' actual Christmas display.
Massage parlor singer Beyonce was spotted leaving her Ultimate Office Christmas Party dressed as a Christmas tree on Monday. Her "Christmas tree" sweater was replete with tinsel, lights, ornaments and Christmas stockings.
Bey held her sweater in front of her in an attempt to hide her pseudo pregnancy. Beyonce is completely obsessed with making you believe she's pregnant. The only way I will believe Beyonce is pregnant is if she pops out a live human being in front of me.

Pop singer Beyonce Instagram'd this image of her daughter, Blue Ivy, admiring their Christmas tree. Blue Ivy's silhouette is framed by the massive tree which is festooned with oversized ornaments included elephants, the symbol of the Republican party. Many families wait until after Thanksgiving to put up their Christmas holiday decorations, but apparently not the Knowles-Carters.
