Burnette Church shooting

Police have identified the gunman who opened fire inside a Tennessee church, killing one and wounding six on Sunday morning.

25-year-old Emanuel Kidega Samson, wearing a neoprene half mask and driving a SUV, arrived in the parking lot outside Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch, near Nashville, just as 10 a.m. services ended.

The attack took place when Roof, who is being held in solitary confinement, was showering alone at 7:45 a.m. in the jail’s high-security area.

Dylann Roof, the white man charged with massacring 9 black church members in Charleston, was beaten by another inmate in jail on Thursday.

Roof, 22, is housed in solitary confinement for his own protection at the Charleston County Detention Center awaiting trial. The beating took place while Roof was showering alone at 7:45 a.m.

A friend of church shooter Dylann Roof was arrested Thursday, The State newspaper reports.

Joseph “Joey” Meek Jr., 21, (in circle) provided shelter to Roof, right, in the days before he walked into a Charleston, S.C. church and gunned down nine black people in June.

The FBI hand delivered a letter to Meek at his trailer home on August 6. The letter informed Meek that he was a “potential target” of the investigation into the church shootings. The letter made it clear that Meek would be arrested at some point in the investigation.

Wal-Mart has apologized to a Louisiana man for baking him an ISIS cake after refusing his request for a Confederate flag cake.

Chuck Netzhammer placed an order for a cake printed with an image of the Confederate flag at his local Slidell Wal-Mart, just one week after white supremacist Dylann Roof went on a rampage at a South Carolina church, killing nine.
