Riley Cooper suspended

This Riley Cooper story has gone from laughable to ludicrous. The 25-year-old Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver was drunk when he used a racial slur at a country music concert. Cooper spazzed out at a black security guard who wouldn’t let him backstage to meet Kenny Chesney. “I’ll fight every nigger in here,” Cooper said.

Normally when a redneck drops the n-word in a room full of rednecks, no one raises an eyebrow. But a concertgoer captured Riley’s tirade on a cell phone and uploaded it to YouTube.

The response from the professional football league was swift. Cooper was fined an undisclosed sum of money, and he was forced to apologize more than once.

But that wasn’t enough. In a tweet posted today, the Eagles front office announced that Cooper will be suspended from “all team activities” so he can “seek counseling.”

Riley Cooper

Unlike disgraced chef Paula Deen, a Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver was caught using the n-word on video. Riley Cooper, who heretofore was unknown outside of Philadelphia, was upset that a black security guard wouldn’t let him backstage at a Kenny Chesney concert.

A concertgoer who witnessed the 25-year-old Riley’s public meltdown sent this email to Deadspin.com:

Riley was going fucking nuts because he wasn’t allowed backstage. He didn’t have passes like some of the other players and was SO pissed that the stadium people wouldn’t let him back just because he was Riley Cooper.

He had had been drinking since 11 AM (Kenny didn’t go on until 8).
Feel free to use the attached pic of his car.

Brad Paisley and LL Cool J

Country music star Brad Paisley calls his song, “Accidental Racist”, one of his proudest moments as a songwriter. But the single, off his new album Wheelhouse, is misfiring badly with some music critics.

Paisley’s song, featuring rapper LL Cool J, is causing controversy due to its lyrics which were intended to promote racial harmony between blacks and whites.
