Today is the day 10 of the 11 convicted former educators receive their sentences from Superior Court Judge Jerry Baxter.

Judge Baxter, who is white, ordered the 10 black teachers jailed immediately after a jury convicted them of violating the RICO statute on April 1. RICO charges are usually reserved for organized crime mob figures.

Porsha Williams

A local judge apparently has an ax to grind with Atlanta socialite Porsha Williams. The occasional Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member was arrested on Dec. 29 in Atlanta for speeding and driving on a suspended license. Her case was set to be heard in traffic court yesterday. But a Municipal Court judge read the facts of the case and decided to send it to a higher court rather than deal with Williams and her shenanigans.

More shocking details have emerged from the closing hearing in rapper Chris "Ludacris" Bridges's child custody case. Ludacris, the plaintiff, took his baby mama, Tamika Fuller, to court on Dec 12, 2013, after she refused to allow him to visit their newborn baby, Cai Bella Bridges, who was born on December 9, 2013.

Rap mogul Chris "Ludacris" Bridges has won primary physical custody of his baby daughter. A Fulton County judge today granted Mr. Bridges primary custody of 1-year-old Cai Bridges. The baby's mother, Tamika Fuller, was granted visitation.

Former Scandal actor Columbus Short was back in the news yesterday. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest after Short missed a court hearing on felony battery charges stemming from a fight in March. But Short had a good excuse for not attending the hearing: he missed his flight from Atlanta.
