DJ Beestroh

A popular radio DJ has been charged with aggravated assault following an alleged "shootout" with DeKalb police at a local nightclub early Monday.

Beestroh was spinning at a listening party for rapper Rick Ross, hosted by Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs at the Velvet Room, a nightclub in the 3300 block of Chamblee Tucker Road.

“For whatever unknown reasons, it appears that this DJ who was involved in the shooting with some others turned and shot at the officers, and that’s when they returned fire,” said DeKalb Public Safety Director Cedric Alexander, according to the AJC.
