Us Weekly‘s Fashion Director Sasha Charnin Morrison found Rihanna‘s inspiration for the DonnyBrook vintage faux short hair fur coat she wore in NYC yesterday. South Korean rapper Kwon Ji Yong, aka G-Dragon rocked the $1,779 coat first during his live performance in 2010.

Drake Parties Without Rihanna At DSTRKT

The photo wire services are all noting that Canadian rapper Drake arrived at DSTRKT nightclub WITHOUT Rihanna, who partied with her bestie, Melissa Forde at the appropriately named Tramp nightclub in Mayfair (London) early this morning. Drake partied with British model Jourdan Dunn, music producer/songwriter Will.I.Am, and others. The party ended early as fans stormed the club and police were called to break up the melee. Drake, who wore a beautifully appointed mink fur coat, was secreted out a side door and into his waiting limo.

There was a time when celebrities feared incurring the wrath of the overzealous animal lovers at PETA — People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. PETA reached its peak in popularity about a decade ago with its over-the-top anti-fur campaigns. PETA waged war against industries, celebrities and other fur wearing notables by shaming them publicly. One particularly nasty PETA tactic was to toss flour, chicken blood (or some other bloody concoction) on fur-loving celebrities as they walked red carpets.

Super Bowl #3 hero Joe Namath wore an obnoxious fur coat hoodie for the coin toss prior to the kick off of Super Bowl 48 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on Sunday. The legendary NY Jets quarterback sparked outrage, first from Super Bowl fans for botching the coin toss, then from PETA and furious animal lovers who were offended by Namath’s ostentatious display of arrogance.
