'Empire' creator Lee Daniels is reportedly auditing teenage girls to play a new character on Fox TV's 'Empire' named Betty Barz.

TVLine reports that the teenager who wins the role must be "moody, outspoken, and unapologetically butch" -- with emphasis on butch. Not unlike openly gay rapper Siya (pictured above) who stars in Oxygen's reality show, Sisterhood of Hip Hop.

Fox TV's new musical/drama series 'Empire' probably lost half of its viewership last night. Viewers on social media platform Twitter.com bashed the show for promoting negative stereotypes.

'Empire''s impressive cast includes Taraji P. Henson (Cookie), Terrence Howard (Lucious), Gabourey Sidibe (Becky), and Malik Yoba, but Gabourey and Malik's talents are wasted in this bloated series that lacks a cohesive script and any semblance of a plot.

There are so many things wrong with 'Empire', it's hard to know where to begin.

NBC Cancels The New Normal

NBC quietly canceled its groundbreaking gay sitcom "The New Normal" after just one season on Friday. The news was met with very little fanfare from the liberal media, which stood in stark contrast to the circus atmosphere hype surrounding the show's premiere on September 11, 2012.

The cancellation was among a long list of shows such as "Go On" and "Guys With Kids" which were also canceled Friday.

"The New Normal" was produced by Glee's Ryan Murphy, who sought to redefine the way families are portrayed on TV. Murphy arrogantly described TNN as "changing the face of television."

But not everyone jumped on the bandwagon. NBC affiliate KSL-TV in Utah made the decision not to run the program at all. “For our brand, this program simply feels inappropriate on several dimensions, especially during family viewing time,” said Jeff Simpson, CEO of KSL-TV’s parent company.
