In an interview with Power 105's The Breakfast Club today, Waka cleared the air, saying his fiancée Tammy Rivera was the one joining the cast, not him.
But sources told Michelle over at StraightfromtheA reality TV blog a different story. They said Waka signed on the dotted line months ago, but he backed out at the last minute after rumors began circulating that he joined the cast because he thought the set of a reality TV show would be a safer environment for him.
Troubled rap artist Gucci Mane was granted a $75,000 bond by a Fulton County judge after spending 2 weeks in jail for assaulting a military veteran, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
The rapper, real name Radric Davis, 33, was arrested late last month and charged with aggravated assault. The unidentified soldier told authorities that Davis hit him over the head with a champagne bottle at an Atlanta nightclub after he requested a photo with the rap star. Davis is still being held in the Fulton County jail on unrelated DeKalb County charges.
LRG, which built their urban streetwear brand on the backs of rappers, features Gucci Mane in a Thanksgiving-themed Day in the Life photo shoot in Atlanta. Titled High End Low Lifes, the LRG style team dresses Gucci Mane in their best holiday threads as he hangs out at his opulent mansion with his skateboard crew and munches on 45 cheeseburgers. An accompanying video takes you behind the scenes of the photo shoot. See more pics here.
Comedienne and Academy Award-winning actress Mo'Nique posed with a pair of 3-D glasses as she prepared to visit "Captain EO" on the film's grand re-opening day at Epcot Center in Lake Buena Vista, Fla today. The musical 3-D film, which stars Michael Jackson, was presented at Epcot from 1986-1994. After a long hiatus, the space adventure film re-opened July 2 at the Walt Disney World Resort theme park. Mo'Nique, who received an Academy Award for her role in "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire," also was among the 135 artists, performers and executives invited on June 25, 2010 to join the prestigious Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Speaking of Gucci Mane, many of my readers emailed me the link to a video of rapper Gucci Mane punching a female rapper in a nightclub. Judging from the video (which you can view after the break), you can see that the female rapper walked away without a scratch on her face.
We can't say the same about Rihanna whose bloody and battered face in a police evidence photo made her the poster girl for domestic abuse.
The video is after the break. The actions starts around the 1:55 sec. mark.
Former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland was spotted relaxing on Miami Beach during the Memorial Day weekend. Kelly was wearing a too small aqua string bikini top and giving her breast implants a little air. Kelly recently tweeted that her diet was key in keeping herself fit, saying: "I gave up sugar and fried foods again!!!". I guess she doesn't mind silicone in her diet.
Tiki Barber's soon to be ex-wife Ginny was seen out with her son's A.J and Chason and her mother today -- a week after giving birth to twin girls. Tiki was seen earlier in the day visiting his twin daughters and picking up the boys for a play date in the park.
T.I. was spotted rocking out at Klutch nightclub on Miami Beach last night, as his fiancee Tiny watched lovingly from the side of the stage (far right).
Unlike rapper T.I., Gucci Mane came out of jail last week with all cylinders firing. While T.I. took time off to be with his his fiancee and kids before hitting the studio, Gucci went straight from jail to the studio and hasn't slowed down yet.
So far since being released from the Fulton County lockup on Wednesday, May 12, Gucci has filmed 3 music videos and recorded enough tracks to fill an album.
When rapper Gucci Mane was released from the Fulton County jail at midnight on Wednesday (May 12), one of the first calls he made was to Atlanta's premier party planner Jamahl King of S.T.E.P.S. Events to coordinate his big Welcome Home dinner at the swanky Georgian Terrace Hotel.
As you can see from these pictures, Jamahl (pictured) did not disappoint! In less than 24 hours, Jamahl laid out quite a spread for Gucci and his guests inside one of the huge Georgian Terrace ballrooms.
Well-heeled guests such as R&B singers/reality show stars Monica and Kandi Burruss; rappers Big Boi, Shawty Lo and Wacka Flocka Flame; producers Jazze Pha, Sean Garrett, dined on filet mignon, miniature beef Wellington, peekytoe crab salad, pecan crusted chicken, bananas foster and freely flowing champagne!
About 30 minutes ago, troubled rapper Gucci Mane walked out of the Fulton County Jail a free man. Gucci, real name Radric Taylor, was arrested last November by his parole officer for violating his probation a second time.
Gucci held a press conference outside the jail where he read a prepared statement to a swarm of media, bloggers and photographers who jockeyed for his attention.
During his stint in jail, Gucci kept busy by writing lyrics and recording his latest mixtape, The BurrrPrint 2HD, over the phone with the assistance of his producer, DJ Holiday.
Gucci also started up a new label, 1017 Brick Squad, and fired his longtime manager Debra Antney, who is rapper Waka Flocka's mom
In this exclusive interview by AllHipHop.com, Debra Antney, the former manager of Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj, discusses her former clients. I recall last year when Debra called me to defend Nicki after I wrote this post.
I have much respect for Debra because she is fiercely protective of her artists and her community. I remember our very first run-in back in my paparazzi days after I uploaded photos to Getty Images of Ludacris and his foundation giving back to the Bankhead community during Christmas 2003.
