Draya Michele

When social media took the place of expensive publicists (some of whom charge $250 per hour), savvy celebrities figured out how to use the social platform to create fake scandals and PR stunts for cheap publicity.

Most notably, power couple Jay Z and BeYaki are accused of pulling off one of the biggest stunts of the year -- faking marital problems to boost sagging concert ticket sales. Apparently their stunt worked: the tour reportedly took in over $100 million in tickets sales.

Less notably, reality TV star Draya Michele reportedly pulled a similar stunt by taking to Instagram to announce she and fiancé, NFL player Orlando Scandrick, had split up.

Odell Beckham Jr

When the St. Louis Rams selected gay football player Michael Sam as the 249th overall pick in the NFL draft, some of us chuckled because we knew that several gay players were already chosen ahead of him.

The other gay players chose not to come out as openly gay out of fear that their sexual preferences might affect their draft status. Sam was hailed as a "hero," but he has since been exposed as an opportunist who came out for financial gain. There is no doubt that Sam's sexual preferences for men affected his draft status.

Sources claim NY Giants rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr (pictured above) was so worried about rumors of his sexual preference affecting his draft status that he, or someone in his camp, created an elaborate Manti Te'o-style hoax to deflect such rumors.

Birthday party invitation hoax

The liberal, left wing, anti-Christian blog Huffington Post fell victim to yet another anti-gay hoax.

Last week, a New York radio show published a birthday party invitation with a note scribbled by "a homophobic mom" telling two gay dads that her son, Tommy, would not attend their daughter's birthday party.

"Tommy will NOT attend. I do not believe in what you do," the mom supposedly wrote on the invite. But the invitation turned out to be a stunt created by New York FM radio station K 98.3.

Video of mother fighting kid in store

It's shameful what people will do for 15 minutes of Internet fame. Loyal reader Jeniefrumdabloc was so concerned over the violence depicted in this video that she sent me the link. "This is awful Auntie," she wrote in her email. The video shows a mother fighting with her son after a shopper accused the boy of stealing grapes. But after viewing the video for a minute or so, it became apparent that the action in the video was totally staged. The mother's reaction to the grape stealing is over-the-top and comical.

George Zimmerman painting

Someone is ready to splash out serious cash for an "original hand painting" by unemployed nightwatchman George Zimmerman. Zimmerman is auctioning his painting on eBay.com to raise cash to pay off his mounting debts. With one day left in the auction, the bidding has reached $100,099.99. But a sharp-eyed New York mag writer says the waving image in Zimmerman's painting was stolen from a popular Internet stock image.

NY Mag writer Joe Coscarelli wrote: "The patriotic work appears to be copied directly, if not ripped off completely, from a generic stock image."

Obama Sign Language Interpreter

Deaf South Africans are outraged that the man chosen to interpret President Obama's speech at Mandela's Memorial Service Tuesday was a fraud.

Three sign language interpreters say the man was not signing in any known language. They accused the man of "making up his own signs".

What was supposed to be a dignified, solemn ceremony for a beloved world leader turned into a comedy of errors. From Obama taking selfies and flirting with the Danish PM to a fake sign language interpreter. Mr. Mandela deserved more respect than this.

Home Depot

A Georgia woman was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries after she sat in glue on a toilet seat at a Home Depot. Emergency technicians were called in to remove the woman from the toilet seat. Afterwards, a store manager found a brown paper bag with a bottle of Loctite GO2 glue inside the bathroom. Almost immediately, skeptics accused the woman of glueing herself to the toilet seat in hopes of a big payday. Loctite GO2 glue is described as "construction grade super glue, usually only available online."

Tawana Brawley

Tawana Brawley was a fast 15-year-old being raised by a single mother when she became the center of a civil rights firestorm in 1987. Brawley, of Wappingers Falls, New York, accused six white men -- including police officers -- of raping her.

Brawley, who had been staying with a boyfriend for four days, claimed the white men smeared her with feces and wrote racial slurs on her body before leaving her partially naked in a dumpster. In 1988, a NY grand jury released its report calling Brawley a liar.

Beyonce lip sync

The NY Post put together this video clip comparing Beyonce's tragic lip sync fail at President Obama's 2nd Inauguration to her live a capella version at a scheduled press conference in New Orleans on Thursday (Jan. 31).

Many wonder why Beyonce thought it was necessary to prove she can sing the National Anthem. From what I hear, Beyonce was unhappy that people thought she sang to a prerecorded track because she couldn't remember the words.

Beyonce also promised to perform live during halftime of Super Bowl 47 at the Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday.

What Beyonce Really Sang at Inauguration

Thanks to the sharp folks over at Badlipreading.com for stripping Beyonce's real vocals from the pre-recorded track she sang along with during President Obama's Inauguration last weekend. Now that we've heard what Beyonce was really singing, we see that it was very necessary for her to lip-sync -- she didn't know the words to the National Anthem!

Beyonce even had the Obamas convinced that she knew all the words as she wailed "Your old black doll can't touch my behind!", "Stroking your swine", and "La fway!" According to insiders, Beyonce mistakenly believed "The Star-Spangled Banner" and the "National Anthem" were two different songs. All in all it was a brilliant performance by the lip-sync queen. Watch the video after the break!

Sidney Ackerman fake profile

"Catfish' or 'Catfished' are terms used to describe people who become emotionally attached to fake social media profiles. Oftentimes the person who runs the social media account is not who they claim to be.

People who get emotionally attached to fake online profile's -- or to online profiles in general -- usually have some form of emotional or personality defect that allows them to become victims so easily.

Luckily, that was not the case with four unnamed NFL players who were almost 'Catfished' by @RedRidnH00d, a woman (or man) on Twitter.com, who used pictures of an Internet adult entertainer, C.J. Miles, to seduce the athletes into establishing a rapport with her.

Yesterday, we noted a CNN reporter labeled Kim Kardashian a narcissist. In the comments section we mentioned Kim K. using Reggie Bush (if they are back together) as her source of Narcissistic Supply. Many of you were unfamiliar with this term, which is also known as NS.

According to psychoanalyst Otto Fenichel, the Malignant Narcissist requires 'narcissistic supply' from the environment the same way a baby needs a bottle. Psychoanalyst Otto Kernberg referred to the coldness in a narcissist's relationships as the "tendency to disregard others except in temporary idealization of narcissistic supply".

Lisa E. Scott explains that narcissists have no innate sense of self or self identity. So they tend to "look outward" for objects or people that will reflect him or her as wonderful, such as a trophy wife or an expensive car.
