Girl Scout cookies

An enterprising Girl Scout who set up shop outside a marijuana dispensary in San Francisco sold 117 boxes of cookies in 2 hours.

The reason for the whopping cookie sales is simple: the THC in marijuana boosts Dopamine in the brain. The increase in Dopamine gives weed smokers the munchies for cookies and other sweets.

Some might see gorging on cookies as a harmless side effect of weed smoking. But a recent study shows that traffic accidents have increased 300% in cities where marijuana is legal.

It is a known fact that marijuana leads to decreased attention span and increased anxiety, psychosis, and depression in users.

Kim Kardashian out and about in NYC

Stone faced socialite Kim Kardashian waded through a sea of paparazzi as she left Kanye West's apartment home in NYC on Tuesday. Every photo agency in the city has a photographer camped outside Kanye's home. I hear the paparazzi work in shifts so they don't miss a single shot of Kim or Kanye leaving the building. The going rate for a non-exclusive photo of Kim and Kanye together is about $50.00. A photo of Kim by herself is worth $20. Multiply those rates by all the blogs, magazines, newspapers and TV shows that buy the photos and you can see why the paparazzi are jockeying for position outside Kanye's home.

Jon Gosselin Pulls Gun On Paparazzi

Former TV dad Jon Gosselin, who gained fame on the reality TV show Jon + Kate Plus 8, admitted he pulled a gun and fired a warning shot in the air when a photographer got too close to his Pennsylvania home.

"I am licensed to carry a concealed handgun, which I withdrew," Jon told gossip blog TMZ. He said he fired the shot into the air to scare the photographer into leaving his property, not to hurt her: "It is well within my rights under Pennsylvania law when someone is trespassing on private property," he said.

Magic Johnson and President Obama

Magic Johnson and President Obama

President Obama's White House guest list is beginning to sound like a joke punchline. Instead of inviting CEO's or experts who know a thing or two about jobs creation, Obama invited NBA legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson to the White House to brainstorm about creating jobs.

As Twitchy.com points out, the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, which is now disbanded, didn't get the job done. So why not invite a sports star who is the face of a multimillion dollar corporation run by silent partners?

Johnson, 54, couldn't contain his excitement when he took to his Twitter account to boast about his biggest achievement -- no, not his 5 NBA championship rings; and not the birth of his son. Something bigger.

President Obama at Morehouse College

President Barack Obama was in town on Sunday to deliver the commencement address at Morehouse, the historically black, all-male college in Atlanta.

Mr. Obama was his usual, arrogant, cocky self as he delivered the Commencement Address. Obama received a polite smattering of applause when he told the graduates that they can no longer use the color of their skin as an excuse for making bad decisions.

Without elaborating, Mr. Obama said men in the black community continue to make bad choices. Obama, who is biracial, said he, too wrote off his failings as just another example of the world trying to keep a black man down. "Excuses are tools of the incompetent used to bridge bridges to nowhere and monuments of nothingness," he said to another smattering of polite applause.

Nicki Minaj arrives late

Yes, this story is important to some people.

Revamped rapper Nicki Minaj arrived exactly 13 minutes late to the live taping of American Idol Wednesday, saying she was stuck in traffic. That's understandable in Los Angeles where the traffic ranks as the worst in the nation.

But it is not understandable if you're a celebrity who gets paid millions to judge a music competition.

On Tuesday I incorrectly stated that Chris Brown fired his longtime manager Tina Davis. In fact, Brown hired Bu Thiam to head his management team. Bu and Tina will share management duties. I regret the error.

This post was originally written July 31, 2012 @ 12:03 p.m.

If you noticed a kinder, more intellectual Chris Brown tweeting on social networking website Twitter.com, there's a good reason for that.

6 months after telling the media Chris Brown would not give interviews in 2012, Brown's longtime manager Tina Davis has been fired.
