Police interviews conducted with Cheryl Shepherd, the mother of Kansas City linebacker Jovan Belcher, reveal that Belcher argued with his girlfriend, Kasandra Perkins, about their daughter’s paternity before shooting her multiple times then turning the gun on himself.
“The mother believed that there was an issue over whether [Belcher] was the father,” said a source told The NY Post. “She said he [believed he] wasn’t necessarily the father of the child.”
This is Brittni Glass, the woman who Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher allegedly spent the night with before he shot and killed his girlfriend then killed himself.
“I was with him that night, that’s it,” an unrepentant Glass told The Post Monday.
After having dinner and drinks together at a local tavern, Belcher took Glass home, but he fell asleep in his Bentley outside her apartment, according to the woman’s neighbors.
Police rousted Belcher from his drunken stupor around 2:30 a.m. He told police he was waiting for his girlfriend who lived in the building. Police say Belcher made a call on his cell phone, them went inside the apartment building.
Neighbors say Belcher left the apartment building around 6:45 a.m. for the 10-minute drive to the home he shared with Perkins and his mother.
The newborn baby of Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher can be heard crying hysterically in the background of a 911 tape obtained by TMZ.
3-month-old Zoey Belcher may have been in the same room where Belcher, 25, shot Kasandra Perkins, 22, multiple times during an argument that turned violent early Saturday. Belcher then drove to the nearby Chiefs training facility and committed suicide in front of his coach and general manager.
Police say Belcher, 25, unloaded his weapon 9 times into Kasandra Perkins, killing the mother of his infant daughter in their Kansas City home early Saturday.
He then drove about 5 miles to the team’s Arrowhead practice facility, where he turned a different gun on himself in front of his shocked coach and general manager.
