Sunday night's MTV Music Video Awards was dedicated to Chadwick Boseman and the Black Lives Matter movement.

The awards show, hosted by singer/actress Keke Palmer, was filmed at several outdoor locations in New York City, without a live audience amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Lady Gaga walked away with the most trophies (5), while South Korean pop group BTS and Ariana Grande won four each. The Weeknd won video of the Year.

The following are the top 5 moments of the night.

1. Keke Palmer, first Black female host of the VMAs

Keke Palmer won praise for her hosting duties as the first ever Black woman to host the VMAs. The 27-year-old Virgo dedicated the night to the late actor Chadwick Boseman and the Black Lives Matter Marxist organization.

Boseman, 43, died of colon cancer after a 4-year battle.

"Before we get to the music tonight, we need take the time to talk about the devastating loss of Chadwick Boseman, an actor whose talent and passion was a true inspiration to all the fans he touched and everyone he encountered. We dedicated tonight's show to a man whose spirit touched so many," Palmer said:

"He's a true hero, not just onscreen, but in everything he did. His impact lives forever."

"As rough as it's been, there have been incredible moments of inspiration that have given my generation hope," she said in her opening remarks. "We've seen heroes going above and beyond... And with the Black Lives Matter movement, we've seen our generation step up, take to the streets, and make sure our voices will be heard. Enough is enough!"

2. Lady Gaga Wins 5 Awards

August Alsina is proof that men can be just as messy as women. He came for Keke Palmer when she inserted herself into his relationship drama with former love partner Jada Pinkett Smith, 48.

The drama unfolded after power couple Will Smith, 51, and Jada brought themselves to the red table to discuss her shameful infidelity with August 4 years ago.

August was a troubled, drug-addicted, mentally-addled young man with mommy issues. He fell right into Jada's trap after her son, Jaden Smith, introduced them and she offered to help August with his drug dependency issues (she eventually helped herself to his hot body).

Former singer and talk show host Keke Palmer (Strahan, Sara and Keke) inserted herself into the drama, tweeting: "The theme is boundaries. Everybody doesn't need to know your business, that's not fake it's honoring one's privacy."

She followed that up with:

"Protect your partner.
Protect your privacy.
Protect your peace."

Then someone in August's camp dropped this throwback photo on Twitter that shows Keke and August riding in a car together.

The user captioned the B&W image: "this you?".

Keke responded, "Yes girl. August was never my man lol. That's why you're still reaching to this day to figure out nothing."

But August was not having that. He reminded Keke how she lusted after him - and "got curved" by him - when he was busy blowing Jada's back out.

August, 27, insinuated that Keke, 26, had mental problems of her own, and that perhaps she was even stalking him.

"U absolutely right. I was NEVER ur man. You could possibly never shortie. It seems u mad u got curved, but ur "friends" r the reason 4 that. Dey showed me an endless thread of txt/pics of me dat u sent, wrry'd abt who i date & BEGGED me 2 not further disturb ur mental instability."

But wait, he wasn't done dragging Keke all over his timeline:

"Imagine not knowing how to mind the business that pay you. I catch all the subliminals. (Not just about today) & you can call me whatever you like, Mess is constantly inserting yourself in topics you have nun to do w/. Go play w/ ya MAMMY! Not me!"

"If you have something to say, say it w/ ya CHEST kids.
It's always very perplexing cause I real deal be showing people genuine love. Whole time that envy eating ya lil heart.
Anyway, NEXT!!"

Daytime talk show "Strahan, Sara and Keke" won't return from coronavirus hiatus, multiple sources confirmed to Page Six.

"'Strahan, Sara and Keke' is put on hiatus and it doesn't look like it's going to come off," a source told Page Six.

ABC News took the talk show off the air in March and replaced it with
"Pandemic: What you Need to Know," a daily coronavirus report by Amy Robach, Dr. Jen Ashton and TJ Holmes.

"It was initially supposed to be a 2-week experiment and the show did really well," a spokesperson told Page Six.

Keke Palmer joined the show a year ago after she impressed ABC execs following her appearance on "Strahan and Sara," starring co-hosts Michael Strahan and Sara Haines.

Strahan and Haines won't be on the unemployment line. Strahan still hosts "GMA."

"Everyone is still getting paid. There's space for everyone. They're actively in contact... They're figuring out what the future will look like," a source said.
