Boston suspects

Within hours after The FBI distributed photos and videos of 2 male suspects being sought in Monday's Boston Marathon bombings, 1 bomber was dead and the other still on the loose.

The man known as suspect #1, wearing a black Bridgestone golf cap in the FBI photos, was dead of gunshot wounds and shrapnel injuries during a harrowing police chase in Boston late last night. Suspect #2 is still on the loose after stealing a police SUV, according to Boston news affiliates who report the suspect threw grenades, IED's and shot at police who returned fire.

"We believe this man to be a terrorist," said Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis. "We believe this to be a man who's come here to kill people."

Boston bombing persons of interest

A Boston track coach and his teenage student are denying their involvement in the deadly Boston Marathon bombings.

The men stepped forward to identify themselves after photos of them wearing backpacks went viral online Wednesday.

The Smoking Gun identified the men as Yassine Zaimi, a 24-year-old track coach and Salaheddin Barhoum, a 17-year-old high school runner who works at Subway and posted photos to Facebook of his trip Monday. They were on Boylston Street, they say, to watch the race.

The FBI has released photos of 2 persons of interest in Monday's Boston Marathon bombings that left 3 people dead and 183 injured.

Local 2 News in Boston emphasized that authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying the men seen in these photos. The FBI bulletin does not describe the men as suspects in the bombings.

inmate at Orlean Parish Prison

Shocking video footage has surfaced online showing inmates gambling, drinking beer, shooting up drugs and brandishing guns. The prison is not located in a lawless third world country -- the footage was allegedly filmed in a prison in New Orleans.

WDSU.com reports that U.S. District Judge Lance Africk released the videos Tuesday as part of hearings about a consent decree issued to Orleans Parish Prison.

Renz

A NY man who was previously arrested for possession of child pornography was charged with abducting and murdering a school librarian and raping her 10-year-old daughter, The Associated Press reports.

Police say David J. Renz, 29, removed his ankle monitor, then drove to a mall near Syracuse, NY, where he abducted the woman and her daughter as they left a gymnastics class, around 9 p.m. Thursday.

Renz forced the woman and her daughter into their SUV, bound them both, fatally stabbed the woman and raped the girl.

Derrick Rose to Pay for Jonylah Watkins Funeral

Chicago Bulls superstar guard Derrick Rose will foot the bill for 6-month-old Jonylah Watkins' funeral, ABC News reports. Jonylah died a day after she was shot 5 times while her father changed her diaper in the front seat of a van parked on Chicago's south side on Monday.

Police say the father, who had known gang affiliations, told them the killer opened fire on him while he changed the baby's diaper. Police believe the drive-by may have been provoked by a Facebook post.

Christopher Dorner manhunt

2 women who escaped with their lives when cops shot up their truck during the massive Christopher Dorner manhunt won't be getting a new vehicle.

Emma Hernandez, 71, and her daughter, Maggie Carranza, 47, were out delivering the LA Times newspapers when eight police officers opened fire on their truck after mistaking the women for Dorner, who was driving a different make and model truck.

The FBI and Los Angeles law enforcement officials are investigating how a Russian website obtained the confidential financial records of celebrities and public officials, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The website, originating in the Soviet Union, published the social security numbers and credit reports of celebrities including Jay Z, Beyonce, Mel Gibson, Ashton Kutcher, Kim Kardashian and others.

An Indiana mother sold her own infant to a man to make a child pr0n, NBC News reports.

Natisha Hillard, 24, was arrested after she sold her 18-month-old infant daughter to 39-year-old Christopher Bour for the purpose of making child pr0n.

Police say Hillard, who met Bour in an online dating chat room, was fully aware of Bour's intentions when she agreed to the illegal transaction.

Joliet murder suspects

Four suspects who are charged with first degree murder in the deaths of two black men may have had sex on top of the corpses.

The four Joliet, Ill. suspects, Alisa Massaro (pictured top right), 18; Bethany McKee (pictured bottom left), 18; Adam Landerman (pictured top left), 19 (his mother is a Joliet police sergeant); and Joshua Miner (pictured bottom right), are charged with the strangulation deaths of two 22-year-old Black men, Eric Glover (below pictured left) and Terrence Rankin, who were allegedly robbed, and partially dismembered in January, News One reports.
