Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas split

Catherine Zeta-Jones, 43, and Michael Douglas, 68, have called it quits after 13 years and two children together.

The Hollywood power couple's rep confirmed the split to In Touch Weekly. The writing was on the wall after Jones checked herself into a facility for treatment of bipolar disorder. At the time, Douglas described Zeta-Jones’s admission to the facility as “a 10,000 mile check-up.”

Zeta-Jones revealed her diagnosis exclusively to People magazine in July 2011.

Michael Douglas says oral sex caused his throat cancer

Actor Michael Douglas says oral sex is the reason behind his stage 4 throat cancer.

In an interview with Britain's The Guardian, Douglas discussed his role in the Liberace biopic "Behind the Candelabra" and his throat cancer which was diagnosed in August 2010.

Douglas said doctors missed the walnut-sized tumor at the back of his tongue after he suffered with throat irritation for months. Douglas finally went to see a friend's doctor in Montreal who used a tongue depressor to look inside his mouth.

""I will always remember the look on his face," Douglas said previously. "He said: 'We need a biopsy.' There was a walnut-size tumour at the base of my tongue that no other doctor had seen," said Douglas.

Medical Minute: Bipolar Disorder

Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, 43, returned home to her New York City apartment today after dropping her daughter off at school this morning. This is the first photo of Zeta-Jones since her much-publicized admission to a facility for treatment of bipolar disorder.

Her husband, Michael Douglas, described Zeta-Jones's admission to the facility as "a 10,000 mile check-up."

Zeta-Jones revealed her diagnosis exclusively to People magazine in July 2011. "This is a disorder that affects millions of people and I am one of them," she told the magazine.
