Michael Sam

Michael Sam will probably never play another down in the NFL -- and he has no one to blame but himself.

Sam, a 24-year-old SEC Defensive Player of the year out of Missouri, announced his homosexuality in February, leading many to believe it was a calculated attempt on his part to boost his chances at the NFL draft in May. Being an SEC standout was no guarantee that Sam would be drafted at all. Even more suspect was the fact that Sam apparently inked a deal with Oprah OWN Network to film a reality TV series before he was even drafted. Then there was the wedding cake incident when Sam tongue kissed his feminine boyfriend on national TV on draft day. ESPN's cameras were there to film the 7th round draft pick licking icing off his boyfriend's face.

Yesterday was the end of the road for many unlucky NFL rookies who were cut from their NFL team's roster. Michael Sam and Tony Dungy

Former NFL coach-turned-NFL announcer Tony Dungy outraged gay groups by expressing his opinion on drafting gay NFL player Michael Sam.

A gay Yahoo News writer who disagreed with Tony Dungy's opinion ignorantly compared homosexuality -- a sexual act -- with the struggles of the black race for equality.

Odell Beckham Jr

When the St. Louis Rams selected gay football player Michael Sam as the 249th overall pick in the NFL draft, some of us chuckled because we knew that several gay players were already chosen ahead of him.

The other gay players chose not to come out as openly gay out of fear that their sexual preferences might affect their draft status. Sam was hailed as a "hero," but he has since been exposed as an opportunist who came out for financial gain. There is no doubt that Sam's sexual preferences for men affected his draft status.

Sources claim NY Giants rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr (pictured above) was so worried about rumors of his sexual preference affecting his draft status that he, or someone in his camp, created an elaborate Manti Te'o-style hoax to deflect such rumors.

Oprah and Michael Sam

Television mogul Oprah Winfrey apparently isn't letting her failed Lindsay Lohan reality TV series deter her from sinking money into another flop reality series.

Oprah's OWN Network is developing a "deeply personal" reality TV series around St. Louis Rams 7th round draft pick Michael Sam, who announced he was gay back in February.
