According to Rodney Ho of the Atlanta Journal's Radio & TV Talk Blog, the Mo'Nique Show has been canceled. That's too bad. We never got the chance to watch it...

Earlier today, I heard that “The Mo’Nique Show” had been axed. I had sent an email out to various BET publicists to ask what was up. No word back.

At about 1:30 p.m., I called Rodney Perry, who was Mo’Nique’s sidekick on the show. He said he was running into a meeting and didn’t answer my question. While I was at lunch over at the mall court, at 1:40 p.m. EST, he texted me: “I was told indefinite hiatus.”

That’s a euphemism for canceled.

In an interview I did at 2:40 p.m., the stand-up comic said he enjoyed the experience working with Mo’Nique. “I’m selling out shows now,” he said. “That’s a win.” He heard the news from Mo’Nique’s husband but hasn’t spoken to the Oscar-winning actress yet. (He wouldn’t say when he knew about this, implying he has known for awhile.)

Actress Gabourey Sidibe, right, sat with her new boyfriend courtside during the New Jersey Nets vs Milwaukee Bucks game on Saturday (Jan. 8) in Newark, N.J.

Awww, she looks so smitten with him (or is that a her?)

The 27-year-old actress is still in high demand months after her critically acclaimed starring role in the award winning film, Precious. Gabby, who was bullied relentlessly by her on-screen mother, Mo'Nique, will play a bully herself in her next film, Yelling to the Sky, starring Zoe Kravitz.

Comedienne and Academy Award-winning actress Mo'Nique posed with a pair of 3-D glasses as she prepared to visit "Captain EO" on the film's grand re-opening day at Epcot Center in Lake Buena Vista, Fla today. The musical 3-D film, which stars Michael Jackson, was presented at Epcot from 1986-1994. After a long hiatus, the space adventure film re-opened July 2 at the Walt Disney World Resort theme park. Mo'Nique, who received an Academy Award for her role in "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire," also was among the 135 artists, performers and executives invited on June 25, 2010 to join the prestigious Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Thanks to K A C, Images and U, LLC for this behind the scene outtake of Trina and Gucci Mane's URBAN INK magazine cover shoot. The issue Aug/Sept issue is slated to drop next month. The theme is "DIAMOND AND GUCCI."  Kodak Boi/www.kiddunot.com

Speaking of Gucci Mane, many of my readers emailed me the link to a video of rapper Gucci Mane punching a female rapper in a nightclub. Judging from the video (which you can view after the break), you can see that the female rapper walked away without a scratch on her face.

We can't say the same about Rihanna whose bloody and battered face in a police evidence photo made her the poster girl for domestic abuse.

The video is after the break. The actions starts around the 1:55 sec. mark.

A loyal reader writes:

Are you sure they are getting married. Why is Hoopz being spotted all over the place with him. Monique show & here what's really good?
--mswomack

So everyone is talking about T.I.'s apparent renewed interest in the reality TV skank star Hoopz since he got out of prison. It seems that T.I. and Hoopz have been seen together (even when he's with Tiny). Such as her appearance in the front row at the Mo'Nique show where T.I. was a guest. And last week, Hoopz was at Hush nightclub where T.I. performed.

You already know how T.I. and Tiny get down. So this should come as no surprise to any of you. I've said this repeatedly on my blog: that a powerful man is always going to have his jump off on the side. But Tiny will always be T.I.'s main lady and his side pieces know that. T.I. has already said that he's not leaving Tiny. The two are expected to tie the knot at a private ceremony later this month. But that doesn't mean that there won't be other women -- and Tiny knows that.

Oscar winning actress and comedienne Mo'Nique is not very happy with talk show maven Oprah Winfrey right now. As you know, Mo'Nique's brother Gerald Imes appeared on Oprah's show on Monday where he recalled molesting his younger sister when he was a teenager.

Siblings molesting each other is nothing new to the black community. For most black families it's a shameless secret that no one wishes to discuss publicly. Rarely does the police or social services get involved since the acts of incest often go unreported until the young victims confide in outsiders.

When I worked as a nurse at a juvenile facility, roughly 50% of the detainees there were incarcerated for molesting their younger sisters and brothers.

But according to Radaronline.com, Mo'Nique denies the molestation ever ocurred -- at least not the way her brother recalls it.

Winfrey - who also suffered sexual abuse - wanted to make sure that the Precious star fully understood what her estranged brother would say after he originally approached her to appear on the show. On the show - which aired on Monday - Imes confirmed that the molestation continued for a year or two, starting when he was 13 and Mo'Nique was 7 or 8.
But Mo'Nique believes her brother lied on the show and didn't convey the full extent of what he did to her. As a result, her relationship with her brother and her parents, who also appeared on the show, is worse than ever.
