Happy birthday to one of the hardest working women in show biz: Beyonce! The “Surfboard” singer turned 33 today. In honor of her own birthday, Beyonce posted this adorable, never-before-seen throwback photo on her personal website, Beyonce.com.
It has already been established that Beyonce Knowles-Carter can’t act, but that didn’t stop movie tycoon Will Smith from signing her to the sequel of his action movie Hancock. The 34-year-old singer will play a character named Carly Kicker in Hancock 2, according to IMDB.com.
20th Century Fox’s ‘The Other Woman’ edged out ‘Captain America’ to top the box office this weekend. The Other Woman, starring Cameron Diaz, Kate Upton and rapper Nicki Minaj, took in $24.7 million from a mostly female audience.
In The Other Woman, three women find out they are being cheated on by the same man, and join forces to get payback. It is a plot that many women can identify with (what man doesn’t cheat?)
A video clip of the upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic All Is By My Side, featuring Outkast member Andre 3000 Benjamin was released online yesterday. The film will focus on Jimi’s life while he was still living in New York. No U.S. release date has been set yet.
A left-handed guitarist, Jimi taught himself to play a right handed Fender Stratocaster guitar — upside down.
Born in Seattle, Washington in 1942, Jimi moved to England when he was 24. A year later, Jimi’s legend was born when he played the Monterey Pop Festival in the U.S. At the end of his set he lit his guitar on fire onstage.
Like most falling stars, Jimi died of a drug overdose in a London flat in 1970.

Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o was all smiles as she waded through a sea of paparazzi at Los Angeles Airport (LAX) today. Nyong’o, 31, won the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her role in 12 Years a Slave on Sunday. Lupita was upstaged by her lesser famous sibling Peter Nyong’o, who attends Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. Peter photo bombed a star-studded Selfie that was tweeted by Ellen Degeneres, who hosted the Oscars.

A star-studded Selfie Tweeted on Sunday by Oscar Awards host Ellen Degeneres broke a Twitter record that was previously held by U.S. President Barack Obama.
“We just crashed and broke Twitter. We have made history,” announced Degeneres after her Tweet was retweeted over one million times by Twitter users during the Oscar Awards telecast Sunday night.
Included in the All-Star Selfie were Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper (who actually snapped the Selfie), Kevin Spacey, Lupita Nyong’o and her bespectacled brother, and Angelina Jolie, among others.
After enduring intense pressure and scorn for using offensive language toward a 9-year-old, someone over at satirical website The Onion jotted down a quick apology to 9-year-old Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis and posted it to the website’s Facebook page.
