NBC Cancels ‘The New Normal’; Obama Cancels Mothers and Fathers
NBC quietly canceled its groundbreaking gay sitcom “The New Normal” after just one season on Friday. The news was met with very little fanfare from the liberal media, which stood in stark contrast to the circus atmosphere hype surrounding the show’s premiere on September 11, 2012.
The cancellation was among a long list of shows such as “Go On” and “Guys With Kids” which were also canceled Friday.
“The New Normal” was produced by Glee’s Ryan Murphy, who sought to redefine the way families are portrayed on TV. Murphy arrogantly described TNN as “changing the face of television.”
But not everyone jumped on the bandwagon. NBC affiliate KSL-TV in Utah made the decision not to run the program at all. “For our brand, this program simply feels inappropriate on several dimensions, especially during family viewing time,” said Jeff Simpson, CEO of KSL-TV’s parent company.

“This time around, we’ll work together as a team more,” NeNe told In Touch.

In Case You Missed It: Real Housewives of Atlanta, Episode 18
I don’t watch fake “reality” shows like Real Housewives of Atlanta, so I haven’t kept up with this season’s fake plot. From what I can gather from the comments, this season is focused on Porsha and her husband, Kordell. I will let the show’s creator, NeNe Leakes, explain the fake plot in more detail:
I arrived in Vegas around 10pm after a long day of work. I was told the plan was to head to a strip club, ride a bull, and have a sex toy party — none of which I would normally do on a girls trip! I came on this trip, so I was willing to do whatever; as long as it didn’t involve doing drugs, having sex, or breaking the law, I was cool! So I got dressed and headed out on the town with the girls.
Once we were in the limo, Porsha said loud and clear that Kordell would NOT be happy if she went to a strip club and that he had already LET her go from Cali to LA! (Which is around the block I guess, LOL!) Now let me break it down to you this way — I have been to strip clubs and worked in one when I was in my early twenties. Now I have moved on too much bigger and better things! I really like Porsha, and even feel like a big sister to her. If Porsha didn’t want to go to the strip club herself, that’s fine! The message I think we all were trying to send to her was to use your own brain and let this be your decision. We’ve all been around her and heard her say things that sound like she’s being controlled. Maybe Kordell feels the need to control her, because he knows what he’s working with. Read more
NeNe Leakes Dresses in Drag
Reality TV star NeNe Leakes, who stars as “Rocky” on the hit sitcom show New Normal, dressed up as NBC Today Show host Matt Lauer for an upcoming episode. She doesn’t look too pleased. Maybe it’s because NBC doesn’t know what to do with her character? NeNe, 45, is coming dangerously close to jumping the shark.
As you know, The New Normal is about a gay couple who decide to have a baby through a surrogate.
