Pastor Jamal Bryant caused waves at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church when he redirected Kanye West's donation to Atlanta's Morris Brown College in the name of Kanye's late mom, Donda West.

Kanye held his popular "Sunday Service" at Bryant's New Birth Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, Sept. 15.

Before the service Kanye presented Bryant with a sizable donation for the church.

But on Sunday, Oct. 13, Bryant told his congregation he didn't want Kanye's money after the rap musician expressed his support for President Trump and the Republican Party in Utah.

"Abraham Lincoln was the wig party, that's the Republican party that freed the slaves," Kanye told the crowd of about 9,000 worshipers in Utah.

Bryant was livid.

"I went into prayer, and it dawned on me in prayer that Dr. Donda West, who was the mother of Kanye West, is a former professor at Morris Brown College," Bryant said on Sunday.

Bryant said he was redirecting Kanye's donation to Morris Brown in Donda West's name.

"I am not a runaway slave," Bryant said.

"To that end, Mr. West made a significant donation to New Birth Cathedral, but I do not want to be guilty of double speech. I met with my team today and the donation that he made to our church, I am now redirecting.

"I am thankful for the gift, thankful the seed, thankful for the sacrifice but I don't want to be seen in any way, shape or form to be seen in cahoots with philosophy or with policies that keep our people in bondage.

Bryant went on to say he was "not a preacher that can be bought or comes with a price tag."

Morris Brown College has been in dire straits financially since losing its accreditation in 2002. Only 50 students out of 2,700 remain on the historic campus.

Rapper Tip "T.I." Harris felt "exploited" when he and his long-suffering wife Tameka Harris attended Kanye West's Sunday Service at the invitation of mega church leader Jamal Bryant.

T.I. explained what was going through his mind in the photo below as he attended Kanye's Sunday service at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta last weekend.

The "I'm Serious" rapper captioned the image, "Yeaaahhh Maaaan We MUST discuss what caused this look on my face in Sunday Service...."

T.I. said he was offended by the church shaking him down for a generous tithe before the service.

"When we sat down there was a whole new agenda. It was like they rung the red bell at the Player's Club," T.I. said, referring to the hit movie starring the late comedian Bernie Mac, and actors Jamie Foxx and LisaRaye.

“It's not that I have [anything] against pastors or against preachers so-to-speak. It's just I've been raised in the trenches and I was taught to peep game. You ain't [about to] run no game on me. I will not be extorted."

T.I.'s statement prompted Byrant to deny the allegations. In short, Bryant claims he nor his church put pressure on the rappers to open their wallets and tithe to the church.

"I don't want Sunday to be used as further ammunition as to why people don’t go to church without them knowing at this same church we gave 5000 pairs of new back to school shoes to kids of #Atlanta, or that we spearheaded 9 million campaign to support @bennett_college , or that we bailed out nonviolent offenders or that we partnered with @delta to send 4 cargo to #Bahamas for hurricane release or that we’ve partnered with @_hamptonu to place 95 displaced students or that we fed the furloughed workers for two weeks while the government was shut down or that we went into housing projects to feed kids of #dekalb county during spring break. For none of these projects were you solicited for a donation."

For the past 2 weeks rap producer Kanye West has taken his Sunday Service gospel revue on the road in America. The first stop was in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois, where he preached to the unwashed masses last weekend.

This weekend Kanye brought his traveling gospel revue to Atlanta at the invitation of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church leader, Jamal H. Bryant.

The 42-year-old Gemini wore a white t-shirt and grey sweatpants. In video on the church's website, Kanye caught the Holy Ghost onstage in the packed mega church as the choir sang rousing gospel songs.

Kanye's Sunday Service started out as exclusive worship gatherings with his inner circle in a field in Calabasas, California.

A 2-year-old girl abducted from New Birth Missionary Baptist church this morning has been found safe, The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.

Myrai Robinson was found safe inside a van around 1 p.m. at Lithonia high school, not far from the church. The van was reported stolen from the fitness center at New Birth Missionary Baptist in the 6400 block of Woodrow Road, the AJC reports.

The girl’s caregiver had driven to the fitness center at New Birth and went inside for a few minutes, according to the AJC. The caregiver left the keys in the van but the van's engine was not running.

When she returned at about 9:30 a.m. the child and the van, a 2010 Dodge Caravan, were missing, police said.

It is not clear if the suspect who stole the van is a student at Lithonia high school.
