The High Museum of Modern Art has rejected without explanation a painting of bordello singer Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy. Apparently Beyonce thinks she’s a modern masterpiece, and that her likeness and that of her child should hang in a museum for art lovers to enjoy.

George Zimmerman painting

Someone is ready to splash out serious cash for an “original hand painting” by unemployed nightwatchman George Zimmerman. Zimmerman is auctioning his painting on eBay.com to raise cash to pay off his mounting debts. With one day left in the auction, the bidding has reached $100,099.99. But a sharp-eyed New York mag writer says the waving image in Zimmerman’s painting was stolen from a popular Internet stock image.

NY Mag writer Joe Coscarelli wrote: “The patriotic work appears to be copied directly, if not ripped off completely, from a generic stock image.”

Signs For The Homeless

The homeless and their crude, handmade cardboard signs blend into the cityscape at most major intersections and highway off ramps. But a group of artists in Massachusetts wants to make sure the homeless signs stand out so motorists won’t look away.

Signs For The Homeless” a project started by artists Christopher Hope and Kenji Nakayama of Massachusetts invited artists to give homeless signs a colorful makeover. The objective of the “Signs For The Homeless” project is to humanize the homeless and make them stand out against the urban backdrop that they have become a part of.

Rudolph West, 63, has been homeless for eight years. He told “Signs For The Homeless” he has trouble finding work due to his criminal record.

Earlier today, rap mogul Jay Z explained the inspiration behind his upcoming CD Magna Carta Holy Grail. The 45-year-old rapper whose real name is Shawn Knowles-Carter, says the album’s tracks were influenced by his father leaving him as a boy. Carter said the track “Jay-Z Blue” was inspired by his own childhood experience, plus the experience of being a father to his daughter Blue Ivy, who was born in 2012. “It deals with my pop leaving when I was young. He didn’t teach me how to be a man nor how to raise a child, or treat a woman. And I have a daughter. It’s the paranoia of not being a great dad.”
