A deadly meningitis outbreak in Los Angeles has claimed the lives of 3 men in the gay community, the LA Times reports.

The LA County health department announced earlier this week that eight cases of invasive meningococcal disease have been diagnosed in the county so far this year

Officials said 4 of the cases were men who have sex with men. 3 of them died. The county will provide free vaccinations to those without health insurance.

A similar meningitis outbreak spread rapidly among promiscuous men who practice unsafe sex with men in NY in 2013.

Ebola outbreak in Guinea

UK hospitals are on "high alert" over fears that the deadly Ebola virus could arrive on British shores.

The Ebola virus that causes hemorrhagic fever is highly contagious. 5 new infections have been diagnosed in Guinea in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of new infections to 127, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

WHO confirms Ebola has killed 80 people in Guinea. Ebola is classified as the "world's deadliest virus", with a mortality rate of 90 percent.

There is no cure or treatment for Ebola.

Once the onset of symptoms appear, death comes quickly. For this reason, health officials say it is unlikely the virus could reach Great Britain from western Africa.

Nicole Maines A Maine judge says a school was wrong to bar a boy dressed up as a girl from using the girl's restroom.

Nicole Maines, now 16, was in the fifth grade when school administrators ordered him to use a unisex restroom after another student objected.

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court ruled Thursday that transgender persons (not just school kids) should have access to any public accommodations of their choosing.

This means that any male who believes he is a female has the right to share the women's restroom at a restaurant even if he is not wearing female attire.

Craig Lamar Davis convicted of exposing woman to HIV

A Clayton County jury has convicted a Stone Mountain man who was charged with exposing a Union City woman to the HIV virus that causes AIDS, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Craig Lamar Davis, 43, did not react to the verdict when it was announced in the courtroom just moments ago. The self-proclaimed pastor faces up to 20 years in prison on the felony reckless-HIV conviction.

Michael Johnson

This bit of news won't help to dispel public opinion that gay men are shamelessly promiscuous.

Michael Johnson, a 22-year-old college student and former wrestler, has been charged with five felony counts of exposing partners to HIV. Johnson is accused of maliciously engaging in unprotected sex with multiple male sex partners despite his HIV status. Prosecutors had no problem building a case against Johnson, whose Instagram username is Tiger Mandingo. They found 32 videos of his sexcapades with gay or bi men on his laptop.
