Rev. Peter Miqueli

Most churches collect tithes to pay salaries, utility bills, maintenance and repairs, the pastor’s Bentley payments, etc. Churches require their flock to voluntarily drop one tenth of their annual income into the collection plate.

Skeptical parishioners can demand an accurate accounting of where their tithes go if they suspect improper record keeping. That’s how parishioners discovered Rev. Peter Miqueli stole over $1 million from the collection plate to finance his fantasy homosexual lifestyle.

Pastor Bans Hair Weaves in His Church

A Waco, Texas pastor is making waves for giving a fiery speech about the women in his flock. Pastor A.J. Aamir has grown wary of looking out over his congregation at Resurrecting Faith Church and seeing a sea of Yaki hair weave.

“Our black women are getting weaves trying to be something and someone they are not. Be real with yourself is all I’m saying,” Pastor A.J. Aamir told AmericaPreachers.com.

No Muslim Parking Signs

Is this still America, the land of the free?

From MSN NOW:

The Westview Shopping Center is across the street from the El Farouq Mosque in a Houston neighborhood. Some worshippers have been known to park in the shopping center’s lot while attending services at the mosque, but it seems like the shopping center could’ve handled the situation a little more delicately. Several “No Muslim Parking” signs were posted on Westview’s property, leaving worshippers feeling unnerved and upset. “I feel sorry for the person who wrote it,” Ahmed Hassan said. “Obviously he has a lot of hate.” None of Westview’s management or staff would take credit (or blame) for the signs. Shopping center owner Steve Kwon says he plans to remove the offensive signs — and any cars he says shouldn’t be parked in his lot.

President Obama praised today’s Supreme Court’s decision to strike down certain provisions in the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). The court also overturned Prop 8 allowing gays to marry in California.

In its decision, the court cleared the way for states that allow gay marriage to pay federal benefits to married gay couples. But 36 states still ban gay marriage and those states will not be affected by today’s supreme court ruling.

In a statement following the court’s ruling, Obama said he would not force religious institutions to hold gay weddings.
