Rosario Dawson is being sued by a former employee who accused the actress and three of her family members of assault.

According to a lawsuit filed on Friday in Los Angeles and obtained by NBC News, Dawson hired a family friend, who was then a stud lesbian, to remodel her personal residence in Los Angeles in December 2017.

The female friend flew from New York to Los Angeles and moved into a home rented by the Dawson family.

Months later, the woman came out to Dawson's family as a female-to-male (FTM) transgender known as "Dedrek Finley" with instructions for Dawson's family to use the male pronouns he/him.

Finley, 55, claims Dawson's family continued to use female pronouns.

The lawsuit claims "the family misgendered him multiple times each day, with deliberate indifference as to the appropriate way to address Mr. Finley." And Rosario Dawson, "acted with deliberate indifference and did nothing to correct the situation."

Dawson, 40, reportedly told Finley, "You're a grown woman."

The suit alleges that Finley was ordered to leave the Dawsons's rented home. When Finley refused to leave, Dawson's mother, Isabel Celeste, grabbed Finley by the arm and dragged the FTM through an open window.

The suit alleges:

"Once Mr. Finley was lying helpless on the ground outside, Isabel, who is substantially larger than Mr. Finley, got on top of Mr. Finley's body and began punching him. While beating Mr. Finley, Isabel screamed, 'You're not so much of a man now,' which was a clear and denigrating reference to Mr. Finley's gender identity."

A day after the alleged assault, Finley was granted a restraining order against the Dawson family.

Finley's attorney, Tasha Hill, said they tried numerous times to reach an out-of-court settlement with the Dawsons.

"As his attorney, we have reached out numerous times to the Dawson family attorney seeking to resolve this before having to file suit," Hill stated. She said the lawsuit was filed last week before the statute of limitations expired.

Hill stated that Rosario Dawson and her family had a good relationship with Finley in New York, when they knew Finley as a butch lesbian woman.

"When he came out to California and decided to come out to them as a transgender man, that's when things started going south," Hill added.

Hill said her client just wants what's "just and fair."

"[Finley] just wants to get some sort of compensation, so he can get back on track with his life so he can put this incident behind him," Hills said.

Rosario Dawson says she's "in love" with long shot presidential candidate Cory Booker. The 40-year-old actress and the New Jersey senator opened up about their relationship to The Washington Post.

"I'm in love! I am absolutely in love, and it is so exciting," Dawson gushed.

"Look, both of us, you know, we've had relationships," Booker added, "but I'm not sure if I've ever fully given myself over to a relationship as much as I have with her and allowed myself to be as vulnerable."

Despite their declarations of love, Twitter users remained unconvinced that they are a heterosexual couple. Many insist Dawson is Booker's beard.

The slang "beard" is defined loosely as someone of the opposite sex who is hired or volunteers to help a homosexual pretend to be heterosexual.

Booker, 50, has been hounded by homosexual rumors for over 2 decades.

As far as anyone can tell, he has never had a serious relationship with a biological female.

Which explains why the then 49-year-old politician described behaving like an awkward schoolboy when they bumped into each other at an event in 2018.

"I mean, gosh, that night we talked for hours and hours," he recalled. "I had trouble asking for her phone number... I think I said something really stupid like, 'Uh, how would I get in touch with you?' And she mercifully said something like, 'Oh, you want my phone number?' And my insides were like, 'Hell, yeah!'"

But Twitter users are quick to point out their awkward body language and other discrepancies.

"Rosario Dawson may never win an Oscar but she's a shoe in for [the] Best Beard Award.," wrote one Twitter user.

Another user tweeted, "Rosario Dawson is taking one for the team. Pretending to be Cory Booker's girlfriend. In old Hollywood these women were called Beards."

And a third user tweeted: "Rosario Dawson with Cory Booker is a publicity thing nothing more. Dare I say she's his beard. When the election is over they'll mysteriously "part ways"

But Booker is already dreaming of a wedding in the Rose Garden of the White House - if by some miracle he wins the Democratic nomination.
