Police say brothers Malik Ford, 21, and Elijah Ford, 18, plotted with their eldest brother Michael DeAndre Ford, 22, to film his suicide as he fired on cops and civilians with a handgun.

Julian, who was diagnosed with Schizophrenia at a young age, was found in a bathroom at La Casa Psychiatric Health Facility with a plastic bag over his head on November 23, 2014.

Missing Michigan doctor Teleka Patrick may have suffered from psychiatric disorders ranging from Erotomania to Schizophrenia.

Patrick, a 30-year-old first-year medical resident in psychiatry at the Western Michigan University School of Medicine, was reported missing on Dec. 6, 2013. She was last seen by a courtesy shuttle driver at the Radisson Plaza Hotel, who dropped her off at her car in the parking lot of the Borgess Medical Center where she worked. Patrick had attempted to rent a room at the hotel. But she was unsuccessful for reasons that are unclear.

Aaron Alexis Navy Yard shooter

The Navy Yard gunman responsible for one of the largest mass murders in Washington D.C. history was treated for Schizophrenia, according to law enforcement officials.

Navy reservist Aaron Alexis, 34, was treated at the Veterans Administration hospital for mental problems which included hearing voices, the officials told the Associated Press.

Alexis killed 12 people and wounded 14 others before he was shot and killed by police during a shooting rampage in the nation's Capital on Monday.

His family told the AP Alexis was a paranoid schizophrenic who heard voices in his head. Alexis carried a .45 handgun tucked in his waistband because he feared people would steal his belongings.

When former child star Amanda Bynes was admitted to a psychiatric hospital after setting fire to a neighbor's driveway, her parents rushed to court to gain control of her money and her life.

But a California judge wisely delayed making a decision on conservatorship until Bynes is well enough to appear in court to speak for herself. The judge also determined that Bynes, 27, and her parents had limited contact with each other before the arson incident.

According to gossip website TMZ, Bynes was given an early diagnosis of "schizophrenic tendencies".

The most hated man in America is finally behind bars. George Zimmerman, the 28-year-old neighborhood watch volunteer who gunned down unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, was arrested Wednesday and charged with 2nd degree murder.

The 17-year-old Miami high school student was shot and killed in Sanford, Florida on Feb. 26 as he walked back to a friend's house from a convenience store with a bag of Skittles and iced tea.

Zimmerman was taken into custody the night of the shooting, but he was released without charges when he claimed self-defense under Florida's controversial Stand Your Ground law.

In his mugshot, taken hours after he turned himself in -- Zimmerman stares straight at the camera, with a blank expression on his face.

In clinical terms, a flat or blunted affect refers to a person whose facial expression shows no emotion in response to a circumstance that would normally prompt a human reaction.

A blunt affect "can be symptomatic of schizophrenia, depression, or brain damage". Victims of post-traumatic stress syndrome are often said to display blunted affect.
