Seahawks sit for the national anthem before game vs Rams

The Seattle Seahawks sat down for the National Anthem prior to the start of their NFC West matchup against the Los Angeles Rams at CenturyLink Field in Seattle on Sunday. The Seahawks left their hearts on the bench prior to their blow out loss to the Rams 42-7.

“We weren’t ready to play, enough,” Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson said after the game.

Things got ugly on Sunday in the waning minutes of the Seattle Seahawks 30-24 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, which saw multiple players ejected and Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll assessed an unsportsmanlike penalty.

The New England Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 in Super Bowl 49 on Sunday. Only one play stood between the favored Seahawks and their destiny as back-to-back Super Bowl champs. Then something strange happened; something that has never happened before in the annals of Super Bowl history when a team is on the 1-yard line with the best running back in the NFL in their backfield. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw an interception instead of handing the ball off to Marshawn Lynch.

Seattle Seahawks Cornerback Richard Sherman may hail from Compton, California, but he insists he is not a thug or a gangsta -- despite his thuggish rant in the most talked-about post-NFC title game interview ever.

Most of the country is still buzzing about Sherman's post-game interview with FOX Sports reporter Erin Andrews, in which he disses San Francisco receiver Michael Crabtree for disrespecting him after the game.

"I'm the best corner in the game!," he shouted. "When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that's the result you gonna get! Don't you ever talk about me!"

A befuddled Andrews asked, "Who was talking about you?"

"N-- Crabtree!," said Sherman, who caught himself just as he was about to blurt out the N-word on national TV.
